Review Number One:
“this game i discovered on a you tube walk through for the santa boss. what’s whith the santa boss? “HO HO HO! I’M A GIANT.” it makes know sense. i wanted to see if there was a reason why santa did that so i played it. THE BEST CHOICE OF MY LIFE. that sums it up!” - Original Review.
AAAH!!! AAHDANG!!! THAT REVIEW WAS TERRIBLE!!! I WROTE THAT?? “IT MAKES KNOW SENSE”???
ughg…
Review Number Two:
So this game is one I found that proves that gameplay itself can just as rewarding as anything you find in the game. I don’t think a game NEEDS to reward players for playing if playing ins reward enough, and Ozwald’s Great Adventure here is a prime example of that. The game has a slick and unfinished style, that oddly enough.. makes it BETTER!! Sure, the graphics are all squares and amateurish circles but it gives it a unique charm, so while not perfect I’d say it’s good enough in that regard. (Graphics: 4/5) The music however is just taken from various other games, so while it’s nice to listen to, I feel as though I shouldn’t include it in my review because the creator never fabricated his own soundtrack. (Sound 0/0) But the game has another fact that makes it stand out… the GAME PLAY!! This is a game that clearly was made up as it went along, and is ABSOLUTELY okay with that. It’s almost ecstatic about it! The game starts out as a normal, get to the door, and continue, but slwly gets weirder. you’ll race with Donkey Kong, and then PLAY an Ozwald version of Donkey Kong, you’ll fight friggen CLOCKS IN SPACE!! OH MY GOSH THIS GAME JUST DON’T GIVE A CRAP!! AND I LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT!! I used to see the Santa Giant as an ODD thing, but HEY, … I mean, CLOCKS IN FRIGGEN SPACE. I feel like one complaint I can give however is that the game has no true final boss. after the space levels the game ends and, I mean, I REALLY love the space levels! But I feel like a decent send off would have been nice. Overall, I’d still say the game is A-OKAY TO PLAY! (Gameplay: 5/5)
One complaint I hear alot is people saying that the lack of a story eliminates your resolve, to play… well.. I can see how that could work but in MY opinion at least, being able to play is a enough drive as you need. (Story: 2/5)
(Overall: 5/5)
Review Number Three: (I swear this is the last one)
Ozwald’s Great Adventure is a game I have some history with. I’m pretty attached to it because, quite honestly, it was one of the first online games I ever really played. And Whatever drunken rage I was on when I wrote that first review….. Let’s just put the past behind us actually.
So the plot in Ozwald is that there is no plot in Ozwald. So we’ll have to dive into the gameplay. The level’s are mainly just platforming. There’s a…. Drug level? A racing level. An Ice level. And a Space level. Like I said in review number 2, this game was oviously made up as it went along. And I for one am ok with that. I really like the style. It looks unfinished, but it looks like it’s cool with that.
But although it seems like it lacked the planning it would usually need, it feels like Nizmo Games tried to make the levels and specific details all mesh very well. And it gives of a great feel.
I don’t really have much left to say without sounding reduntant, but I would like you to note the fact that Ozwald’s is a fun little platformer that is worth a test.
GAMEPLAY- 5.9/9
VISUALS- 3/9
STORY- X/X
MUSIC- X/X
OVERALL- 8/9 (Pretty ok)
