STORY
Worldwide, Pac-Man Friends was released August 20th, 2014. It was available on iOS (formerly $4.00), Android, and Kindle Fire for free. Unlike a lot of Pac-Man Mobile games, it was not delisted on March 30th, 2015. It would later be deleted on until 19th, 2018. It was pitched alongside another two Pac-Man Friends spin-off games, Pac-Man Slingshot and Pac-Man Star Wars.
PAC-MAN STAR WARS was shown off alongside on Pac-Man Slingshot in lead artist, Laszlo Palfi's Artstation. It had unused content in the main Pac-Man Friends and new Star Wars themed friends and ghosts.
PAC-MAN SLINGSHOT (formerly, unofficially recognized as Pac-Man Angry Birds) was shown ofd alongside Pac-Man Star Wars on Laszlo Palfi's Artstation. It went unnamed until Laszlo's Pac-Man Friends overview, including the name Pac-Man Slingshot. The gameplay seemed to be angry birds but with Pac-Man Friends' characters and art style.
Both Pac-Man Friends are star wars photos are listed as "in-game shots" meaning both were demos produced for Bandai Namco. These are two of several concepts, the rest being unknown.
Pac-Man Friends featured Pac-Man and different pac-people with special gimmicks eating all the dots on the maze. There was a time limit to complete the level and get enough friends to escape once eating all the dots. There were different items with special gimmicks too. The potion inverses your controls for the friend that ate it, colored key doors, and more.
There is a lot of unused content. Multiple friends and a few sprites were left out of game. A black and white friend seen on the title scren was left over. It could change colors to red, blue and green. There are also leftover red, blue and green tiles, presumably intended for this friend. There are also unused sprites of 2 differently colored and sized small pac-people, a strange purple sprite, and a brick Pac-Man. There were also alternate scared ghost / IZIKE sprites.
It is unconfirmed, but the Pac-Man Friends sprites seemed to have been based on the 80s Fleer trading cards / stickers. Pinky only appears in one level. Pac-Man Friends still remains on the Manifesto Games website, along with the trailer remaining on YouTube.
