Part 1 is out now on https://alpha.unsandboxed.org/.

Full changelog (and what's in Part 2) in the article.

  • Added 9 new extensions:

    • Objects

    • Arrays

    • Iteration

    • Runtime

    • Temporary Data

    • Comments

    • Mouse

    • Types

    • Vectors

  • Introduced "extendable blocks", including 4 new blocks:

    • Switch/case

    • Min

    • Max

  • Updated the UX for making custom block inputs.

    • You can now click on a "boolean" input to change its shape.

  • Introduced the "Extensions V2" interoperable ecosystem, including dozens of new APIs to make extensions work together. These changes will become more apparent in future updates.

  • Matched the look of Scratch's recent "spork" update. (Without the bugs)

---

I'm sorry for the lacklustre update; I wanted to get more extensions done but these are the ones I was confident were working (aside from objects/arrays, which I've since learned are older versions).

Part 2 will have:

  • Promised .ubp/sb3 semantic improvements.

  • More extensions.

  • Improved extendable block ergonomics.

  • More bug fixes that I missed before I had time.

The "Viewport" extension.

Will allow you to show a live feed of another part of the stage.

I'm curious if AI is actually any good at nuanced issues like this. Imo this is where I'd actually find it useful, reading and fixing verbose errors.

We'll see, I predict it produces a garbled mess.

Finally, GarboMuffin gets the credit he deserves for Animated Text (and dozens of other extensions).

It always felt strange seeing people think that I made it.

It goes without saying this is optional. The "Classic" mode will always be available.
