Patch 0.8.0: Leylight Hollow (Again)


This time for sure, with additional updates!

Version 0.8.0 Patch Notes

CORE ENGINE

Starting this patch, we’ll be testing improved AI and skillsets for the enemies of Jelly Overgrowth and Ley Woods.
If the test is successful, we’ll move on dungeon by dungeon each patch.

There is now a Maximum Level in play.
The highest possible level a Mercenary can be is 60 (this may change in the future).
Enemies can be up to 3 levels higher than the cap at any given time (13 with Level Modifiers)

Added a ton of new character assets created by IceKun, hiddenone, Avery, Sythian Bard, Derex, Sinnistar, TheMarbleFox, Haydeos, Rhino, Snowie, and mon!

MERCENARIES

New Mercenary: Camellia the Witcher

Assassin Mercenary who has a wide range of skills

Base:

Weapon Type: Sword

Physical Armor: 13
Spell Damage: 11
Spell Armor: 13
Speed: 25
Luck: 39

Skills:

Close Combat:

Deal 6x Physical Damage and lower the target’s Physical Armor for 2 turns.

Blade Dance:

Deal 3x Physical Damage to 2 different enemies and Stun them for 1 turn.

Parry:

Passive: Camellia has a 10% chance to perform a basic attack after taking damage.

Tiny Cammy:

Heroic: Summon Tiny Cammy.

Tiny Cammy’s Skills:

Hot Sauce:

Set an enemy on Fire.

Toothpick:

Deal 2x Physical Damage and Daze the target.

Grenade Toss:

Tiny Cammy throws a grenade, dealing 4x Physical Damage to all enemies.

All:

All characters (except Machwar, Spitfire, and Mitch) have had their Mana costs set to percentages.
Percentages are between 5% to 30%, generally being around 10%.
This, and mana generation skills, are subject to heavy change between patches.

Bolster has been removed from the game.

Guarding now gives an attack boost for 3 turns and restores 5% Maximum Mana.

Garen:

Guardian Strike:

Now inflicts Holy Brand, causing the enemy to take 50% additional Holy damage for 3 turns.
Now costs 10% of Maximum Mana.
Base damage reduced to 4x Physical Damage (Was 6x)

Lightforged Bulwark has been reworked.

New design:

Passive: Garen take 10% less Holy damage, has 10% increased Physical Armor and is targeted 10% more often.
Active: Garen gains Taunt and Physical attacks against him deal 50% less damage.

Daniel:

Skills:

Flash Heal:

Cooldown reduced to 1 turn (Was 2)
Now costs 10% of Maximum Mana.
Heal amount reduced to 4x Spell Damage (Was 6x)

Binding Heal:

Now costs 10% of Maximum Mana.
Now heals Daniel for 30% Max HP (Was 20%)
Now heals target for 4x Spell Damage (Was 3x)
Cooldown increased to 4 turns (Was 3)

Spirit Watcher:

Now regenerates 5% of Mana each turn (Was 2.5%)

Sel:

Skills:

Sinister Strike:

Now costs 10% of Maximum Mana.
No longer has a cooldown, allowing for infinite use in the same turn.

Assassination:

Base damage reduced to 16x Physical Damage (Was 28x)
Heroic cost decreased to 1 (Was 2)

Developer Notes:
We’re reducing the damage and cost of Assassination in preparation for a future addition.

Hyria:

Base:

Hyria’s stats have been tweaked to make her more of a glass cannon.

Skills:

Arcane Blast:

Damage reduced to 3x Spell Damage (Was 8x)
Is now Hyria’s Basic Attack

Arcane Lance:

Damage increased to 6x Spell Damage (Was 3x)
Now has a 3 turn cooldown
Is now Hyria’s first Basic Skill

Mana Flare:

Damage increased to 3x Spell Damage (Was 2x)
No longer applies Silence
Now grants Hyria a Spell Damage boost for 3 turns.
Cooldown reduced to 3 turns (Was 4)

Time Seal has been redesigned.

Arcanist’s Barrier:

Passive: Hyria can never take more than 35% of her Max HP as damage.

Mana Shield has been redesigned.

Arcane Storm:

Heroic: Deal 5x Spell Damage to all enemies. Always Critically Strikes, but only deals double damage upon a Crit.

Machwar:

Skills:

Vaporize:

Now hits 2 different targets (Was all enemies)
Now deals Physical Damage as well
Now deals 6x Spell Damage, second hit deals 50% less

Ball Lightning:

Now has a 2 turn cooldown

Electric Field:

Fixed a typo in the name
Recoil reduced to 20% of damage dealt (Was 40%)

Shield Overload:

Shield Recharge is now equal to 20% of Max HP (Was 10%)
Shield Overload now only gives 25% Shields for 2 turns (Was 50% for 3 turns)
Shield Overload now gives Spell And Physical Taunt for 2 turns

Zivian:

Skills:

Shadow of Undeath has been redesigned.

Immortal:

Passive: Zivian has a 50% chance to survive lethal damage with 1 HP. This effect cannot trigger if she only has 1 HP.

Neraz:

Curse of Weakness has been redesigned.

Shadowy Horror:

Heroic: Horrify an enemy into fighting their allies for 4 turns. Doesn’t work on Bosses.

Lily:

Updated face sprite

Skills:

Ghostly Hellfire:

No longer increases Physical Armor
Now cuts Physical damage by 30%
Now gives Physical Taunt

Eliana:

Melody of Harmony:

No longer applies a Heal Over Time
Instant heal increased to 4x Spell Damage (Was 1x)

Tsukuyomi’s Blessing:

Healing reduced to 3x Spell Damage (Was 4x)

Kitty Senses:

Passive Dodge increase increased to 8% (Was 2%)
Now increases Crit as well
Removed chance of Bleed

Cat-tastrophe:

Damage increased to 3x Physical Damage per slice (Was 2x)
Heroic cost increased to 2 (Was 1)

Cyrin:

Ice Shock:

Cooldown removed
Damage increased to 4x Spell Damage (Was 3x)
Now costs 20% of Maximum Mana.
Now refunds 250% of Mana spent upon kill. (50% of Maximum Mana)

Pillar of Leeching Frost:

Lifesteal increased to 100% (Was 50%)
Cooldown reduced to 3 turns (Was 4)
Now costs 15% of Maximum Mana.

Spitfire:

Skills:

Oil Spill has been redesigned.

Burning Hatred:

Deal 2x Spell Damage to an enemy and cause them to only attack Spitfire for 5 turns.

Blaze:

Renamed to Blaze (Was Blast Wave)
Now only targets one enemy (Was choose a target, recast after)
Damage reduced to 1x Spell Damage (Was 3x)
Now deals its damage 5 times
Cooldown reduced to 2 turns (Was 3)

Flame Vents has been reworked.

New design:

Passive: Spitfire’s Basic Attacks have a 15% chance to set enemies on Fire. Spitfire also takes 50% less Fire damage.

Melted Armor:

No longer disables Flame Vents while active

Rayzon has been redesigned from the ground up, keeping a new theme of a Ley Mage based around Defense rather than healing or damage.

New Base:

Class name changed from Witchdocter to Ley Guardian
Basic attack now does Arcane damage instead of Shadow damage
Visuals updated

New Skills:

Reflecting Prism:

Give all allies 100% Reflection for 1 turn.

Mana Well:

Restore 20% of all ally’s Mana.

Ley Shield:

Passive: Rayzon is Immune to Arcane damage, and takes 8% less Spell Damage total.

Resurgence

Developer Notes:

Previously Soul Expulsion, Reflecting Prism provides a lot of utility to Rayzon’s allies in the form of being able to reflect oncoming Damage for 1 turn.
This goes hand in hand with the new counterattack updates.

Previously Totem of Healing, Mana Well strives to provide a good form of Mana generation now that skills overall cost more Mana.
However, Rayzon gets no additional Mana from this effect, as it requires him to spend as much as he’s gaining.

Previously Phantasm, Ley Shield offers a self defense option to Rayzon.
This allows him to slightly tank magical damage if he is hit by it.

Resurgance is functionally identical to Reincarnate, just with an altered description and name/art.
We personally see nothing wrong with the skill.

ITEMS

Mana Potions are now Instant
Cost reduced to 80 Gold (Was 100)
Cost of Void-Touched Potions reduced by half

Rel’s resistance items have been removed from the game
The Void Peddler now sells similar items for Shards

DUNGEONS/ENEMIES

Jelly Overgrowth has never looked better!

Jelly Underground has been overhauled again:
Less confusing layout.
The 3 minibosses have all been combined into one fight, “The Forces of the Deep”.
It’s now dark down there. They had hidden lights or something.

Glorp the Kingjell’s mechanics have been tweaked slightly:
Now summons a Blue Jell at 70% and a Red Jell at 40% instead of a Blue Jelly every 20%

Reduced the number of Ley Spirits to 6 and made them a bit slower
Upgraded Leylight Hollow to be better in every way
Starting position in Ley Woods has been changed
Major graphical and layout updates
Removed the RNG mechanic, it was stupid

The following bosses now properly resist certain status effects:
Fel’voar (Edge of Reality)
Elderon Overmind (Elderon)
Yal’goth the Ender (Elderon)
Dreadwrought (Mag’mar Caverns)
Flamegorger (Mag’mar Caverns)
Hyla the Marsh Witch (Swamplight)
Cledrong the Overgrowth (Swamplight)
Gorndel the Chomper (Swamplight)

VISUAL/GAMEPLAY

The starting sequence now awards the player an Information Book
Ephilar has been overhauled again
Added some easter eggs relating to old giveaway winners
All characters now cost 400 Gold to hire
Updated descriptions on some characters
