[DISCLAIMER: THIS IS GAMES I PLAYED THIS YEAR NOT GAMES THAT RELEASED THIS YEAR]
I didn't really have an eventful year of gaming this year, like at all I've just been really busy with so much I didn't have much time to really sink my teeth into a new game so I only have 9 games on this list so I hope you enjoy my very mid list of games.
[No. 9] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II - 2/10
In dead last is the most dead and soulless shooter I've played in my life, and I've played Apex and Overwatch 2. This game is basically Call of Duty if an incompetent studio (cough cough Infinity Ward) stripped every good aspect from it and added an overabundance of microtransactions and bad decision, I could go on for an eternity of how bad this game is but I need to put at leas some effort into the other games summaries on this list.
Final Words - Stink, Stank, Stunk.
[No. 8] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III - 4/10
In second place is what MWII should've been on launch, and even though this game is far down I think it has good aspects like the Multiplayer and to extent Zombies, but a lot of those good words don't really matter when we look at the biggest eyesore in the entire game, THE CAMPAIGN. A 3-4 hour long campaign that makes zero sense, goes nowhere, with terrible stage design, terrible story, 99% of the campaign reuses assets from the WARZONE AND MULTIPLAYER MAPS, and easily the biggest waste of $70 I spent this year.
It really just feels like a DLC to MWII because that's what it was supposed to be before Activision made Sledgehammer make it a full premium title halfway through development and it has good aspects but will probably end up in a disastrously massive fire just like MWII.
Final Words - Had so much potential but Infinity Ward messed it up.
[No. 7] Sky: Children of the Light 7/10
I don't really have much to say about this game but I really enjoyed it for the time I did play it, a very gorgeous game and has an incredible soundtrack and is pretty cool for a free game and worth you checking out, though I did think it got boring really fast and doesn't have really anything to do.
But is also a pretty comfy game and really cute, and a nickname I gave to a random player I found ended up being the name for one of my OCs which is pretty cool.
Final Words - Gorgeous visually and audibly, needs more content.
[No. 6] Shantae: Half-Genie Hero - 8/10
I've been a fellow Shantae enjoyer for a while but decided to play my first Shantae game being Half-Genie Hero this year and it was so much fun and I loved it, definitely one of the best platformers I've ever played and a load of fun, and hey, boobs are pretty cool too so that's an upside, and I have always adored the Shantae music and this game definitely didn't disappoint. One issue I did have was the lots of backtracking in the game but other than that I loved it.
Final Words - Shantae For Smash.
[No. 5] Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War - 8/10
One of my favorite Call of Duty games I've ever played, great campaign, great zombies, great multiplayer, It's the COD I've spent the most time playing and I know it's not a game for everyone who's into shooters but this game is pretty dope and would recommend it over MWII or MWIII any day.
I don't really have much to say then it was good and I really liked it.
Final Words - I'm an Onion Mason.
[No. 4] Doki Doki Literature Club Plus 9/10
I don't really need to explain what makes this game so incredible, this isn't my first time playing just my first time playing Plus, I did a full 100% of the game on my Switch and Xbox which I still proudly have the saves for and this game is a top tier recommendation for anybody, and for those who don't wanna spend the money go get the original, it's just as fantastic.
Final Words - I'm glad I said Okie Dokie.
[No. 3] DOOM: Eternal 9/10
Took me a while to finish this game since I played for a few hours then binged the whole game like two months later and loved ALL OF IT from tearing demons apart to feeling the music kicking in and just shredding everything in your path and it just feels so incredible when you really get going.
Can't wait for the next Doom game.
Final Words - I ripped and teared until it was done.
[No. 2] Skullgirls 2nd Encore 9/10
I've been watching people play Skullgirls for a really long time but made the mistake of not picking it up for myself until this year.
Genuinely my second favorite fighting game of all time right behind Smash Ultimate, I love every aspect about this game, the GORGEOUS and drop dead stunning hand-drawn visuals, and the absolute ear candy that is this games jazz soundtrack, and the gameplay is just so incredible in every way, and I have never loved a digital 2d corpse woman as much as I've loved Squigily, I just love Squigily so much, such an adorable and fun character.
Please for the sake of my sanity and short attention span, play this game, its almost always on sale for like $3 and its so worth it, especially with friends.
Final Words - In A Moment's Time I will be right back on this game.
[No. 1] The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom 10/10
There really isn't anything I can say about this game that hasn't been said already it's such a good game in almost every single aspect, it has a handful of annoyances and questionable choices but other than that I adored this game way more than anything else this year and 100% deserves my meaningless stamp of approval of Moth Award's Game of the Year.
If you haven't played this game yet go get to it right now you need to.
Final Words - HUH, HIYAAAHHHH, HYYUUAATT!!!
Thank you for spending the time to read this rushed list of games I wanted to push out last minute before the end of the year, see you next year on the same day and same time unless I'm dead!
I love you all <3
