I find it really incredible how people insist on show support of some social group (being gay, trans, bi, or whatever) through the worst possible methods, and that's what Ari did with her "DUSTTRUST X" project.
Before you accuse me of being transphobic or a hater of these political/social movements, I want you to understand my point before you try to criticize me.
"It's just a trans flag, what's the big deal?"
One of the arguments most used by members of these social group members or those outside them, but supporters. Have you ever stopped to think how unnecessary this is?
Look at the scenery, all monochromatic, inspiring, well done, showing depth in a simple scene... Do you really have to ruin that by putting an irrelevant political opinion into the game? It doesn't matter if the game is yours or if you're showing solidarity with whoever the target is, you're taking away from the original focus of that scene by putting something that has no connection to the game whatsoever.
"Ah, but UNDERTALE supports this kind of thing, take for example Alphys and Undyne, Mettaton, RG 01 and 02..."
I don't remember any of these couples wearing a brooch showing their sexuality, or giving moral lessons about it, or whatever. Why, though? Because there is no need. Toby Fox made a game that carries the motto of not giving up, that friendship, even with "strange friends" gives you the best of experiences, that you can make a difference through your decisions... It's not a game where you necessarily have to show your support for being gay, bi, trans or whatever, because that's irrelevant, it's not a priority factor in the story or a factor that will make me theorize using that as a key point.
I'm not playing your game to receive a moral lesson about something outside of its proposal, I want to enjoy it, I want to immerse myself in the game, I don't want your political opinion or anything like that.
"But aren't you in favor of showing these things, you insensitive monster?"
Show it, feel free, creative freedom is there for that. But don't rub it in my face that I have to constantly support your political opinion as if you were pointing a gun at my head or bothering me about it.
It's just a flag, indeed, but what relevance does that flag have to lore? Sans goes on a rampage killing everyone underground, just to gain power, by chance, upon seeing this flag, would Sans kill everyone and let only the trans monsters live? Do you think that by making my fangame, you, immersed in the story, would like to hear Temmie's opinion on gay people, trans people, etc?
I'm giving your game a chance for the experience, what you think is good or not gets the simple phrase "fuck off", I'm not playing for you, I'm playing for my pleasure as a player.
There are times when you can show your opinion, no one can stop you, but don't ruin my experience in your game just to inflate the pride of some group out there.

Soup Taels makes fun posts about this theme, putting the soup combo with the homage to LGBT people, placing their flags in the bowls. This is fun, this is inspiring, not a trans flag in the middle of a place where the game is 100% different and incompatible with this proposal.
I hope you understood my message, it is not a hate attack on LGBT people, far from it, I hope everyone can live well because it was their choice and they are proud of it, that's why they should be represented by proper methods.
Don't want your game to be criticized? Don't deviate from the focus, be objective and concise.
Okay fellas, see ya.
