Hello again! You know what time it is: this month's progress report!
The "Battle" System is Finished!
I'm very happy to announce that the "battle" system is finally done! This means that there will be some encounters in some parts of the world where you can "battle" with the enemies!
Now, you might have noticed something with the word "battle"; it's highlighted with quotation marks. The reason for it requires a bit of explaining, so pay attention.

It is more of a negotiation than a simple battle. In a land full of people with polarized political views, negotiations are an opportunity for increasing reputation. The fate of Kälterland depends entirely on this.

Attack or negotiate. It's your choice. Enemies will give up fighting after successful persuasion. They will retreat when they're defeated by power. Depending on how the battle ends, your reputation in West Kälterland either goes up or down. The more reputation you get, the more people will support you. The more you lose, the less people will trust you. Kälterland may not reunite with two people, but it will with thousands.
Keybinds Can Now Be Assigned!
Some of the feedback I've gathered were about the keybinds of the game. For people having difficulties with playing the game due to this, a new section was implemented in the Settings Menu. You can choose any key you like by pressing "Confirm" and set its keybind to a different key. "Cancel" will cancel the keybind change action.

Additionally, for starters, this screen will pop up in the First Time Setup screen.

New Face Sprites!
Clara die Beschützerin's face was updated!

The old version had rounder cheeks and the eyebrows were a bit unfitting. Aside from that, the perspective of the dress was wrong and the golden part was smaller than it had to be. The new one fixes both of the issues.
Localization Support for Sprites
From now on, sprites open to localization will be exposed inside the game files. This means that new sprite variations can be added for each language and that its properties can be changed.

Properties are set inside the sprite's respective .ini file:
Image number
Origin X/Y position
Anti-aliasing
Show background
"Archives" Menu
It is a mockup right now, but it'll be an actual menu screen in the game. Previously-met characters and enemies will be recorded to this menu, and you'll be able to see some detailed information about them. Here's an example:

And I suppose this is everything for now! Unfortunately, I've got midterms two weeks later, so I have to leave aside game dev for the time being. After that, I'll make final adjustments to the game's user interface to make them look better and finally add the "Archives" menu. With all this, the game's framework is essentially finished and I can finally focus on working on Chapter 1.
Until then, have a nice day!
