This update is not the major update you have been expecting, it is just a minor update to keep you occupied while waiting for bigger updates. I repeat, THIS IS NOT A MAJOR UPDATE AND THE AMOUNT OF CONTENT IN THIS UPDATE IS NOT RELATED TO HOW LONG IT TOOK FOR THIS GAME TO BE UPDATED. IT MAY HAVE ALMOST BEEN A YEAR, BUT THIS GAME DOESN’T HAVE A YEAR OF PROGRAMMING PUT INTO IT, KEEP THAT IN MIND!
CHANGELOG FOR THOSE WHO DONT WANT TO READ THE REST OF THE DEVLOG:
added 19 MB of useless files
fixed underchat
new battle-screens for the Batter, the Judge, Mario and Luigi
you can now press U to instantly open underchat, since i was unable to fix the main-chat of the game
added a handful of skins
updated some of the soundtrack
security fixes
due to me losing some files, the df-crossover wall was lost and could not be implemented back into the game, sadly. Please do keep in mind that RickyG and I still get along and that this is not a sign of disrespect on my part
some other stuff, maybe, i forgot, i didnt properly keep track, but there isnt neccessarily anything new to do yet, though pvp is back in the works.
I’ve really been doing a lot of thinking about the future of MTO and where it should go. Firstly, to get back in the swing of making updates, I will go back to the old MTO-Tradition of making smaller updates more frequently. This also brings back the old Pre[Number] Naming Tradition with it!
Secondly, about demo 1. Demo 1 really was an ambitious project, however, due to motivational problems, I could never really see myself making this much progress in just a single update. Not only that, but I have decided that a proper plot doesn’t work well with this kind of game.
Am I scrapping the plot though? Yes and no. The plot will be turned into it’s seperate game, Mysterytale, where as Mysterytale Online will completely focus on the multiplayer-stuffs. So you won’t have to worry about grinding being evil in Mysterytale Online, while killing will still affect Mysterytale.
Both games will still be hosted on this page, and Mysterytale will be an entirely offline game with a lot of differences to its online-counterpart, though more details on that at a later date.
For now, I hope you will enjoy what little work I was able to pull off in the past few months despite my motvational constraints.
The last release before this one, demo 0.9, was a joke. It was a lazy excuse of an update. It just removed features. It was an unfinished demo 1 that robbed all my motivation of working on Mysterytale Online. I apologize that this was the case and that it took me this long to finally start correcting my mistakes.
I will slowly add back old content, such as Racing and PvP, though change them enough to make them worth replaying. These will be delivered back to you piece by piece through several updates. I won’t promise anything, but Pre8 might finally include a version of PvP that I might end up being happy with. I want this game to offer something again. And I do promise that one day, it will do just that.
Until then, enjoy Pre7 and have a great time! Next up on my list of work, though I can’t promise I won’t get too frustrated with making it, is PvP.
