Let's talk about how far we've come since "Pillars of Silence" and how we managed to turn Pillar 1 from its original idea of a workshop located in a forest, to a garage warehouse in Sunset Programme
Pillar 1, "Plans of the past" - was originally the first level, after the prolouge, where you went to visit Fritz's workshop that was now long abandoned in a forest near Lucas' house. The problem was that the place was locked and you needed to find a way to enter. There were important documents about Fritz's past you needed to retrieve. Well, I liked the idea of Fritz's workshop back in the early days of development. Bonnie Smith needing to enter the place, find something related to her family and maybe her father Lucas himself was an interesting idea, BUT there were many problems I noticed in 2022, and knew it needed to be different in the Pillars of Silence remake we planned way back in December 2021.
CONCEPT ART FROM EARLY 2021:
What needed to change was the place of the whole location - a random building in the middle of a forest doesn't sound that good and it could be something better, something different. And we could make a new, better set of tasks as well.
Then our first plans for a remake began development. The idea was simmilar, with small differences, but it wasn't anything special.

When we started developing Sunset Programme in late October 2023 I wanted to make something new. The fact that the game's story is completely different now and its concept was remade to fit better with "THE STORY 2: Deception"'s concept meant that we NEEDED to put the level in a different location. Me (@Draxis ) and @hoshi25 were talking about what kind of location we should make. And because in Sunset Programme's story you need to complete Snake's tasks to test your skills we decided to make the place one that Snake would use for such a test - an abandoned, forgotten and ruined warehouse storage, where Fritz had his workshop in 1986.
