Greetings. I know it’s been quite a while, and we planned to create a devlog on Undertale’s anniversary. Unfortunately, the same issue that delayed Team Switched’s devlog arose, and we’ve only been able to make one now.
Alright. Let’s get started.
While not much has changed in way of designs or canons, things are still subject to change. After the events of Chapter 1, things may take a drastic turn in the most unexpected of ways.
Code Progress
While game development has been going slowly, code is still progressing. We’ve made quite a few engine changes such as native translation support, completely re-done menus and integration of the CELL PHONE and PARTNER ASSIST systems.
The Ravaged Mines
One of our talented area artists, Fours, has been working to completely re-do MettaToreodere’s old tileset and build upon it.
The new aesthetic captures the overall essence and feel of a dark, abandoned mine considerably greater than the prior tileset.
Oh, there’s a new Frisk sprite too.
But, what would a RPG area be without its random encounters?
FMS, Neveroff and StylusSpence have been working hard on designing enemies, and there are many new types to encounter.
What would encounters be without their battle system?
FMS has also been working extremely hard on redoing my terrible battle background, and now the battle system is just as we envisioned it.
