Progress Report

First off, I want to thank everyone who’s been dropping by, commenting on (progress of) the game and being so supportive - it means a lot and is so encouraging - so, thanks!!

I’ve been starting to flesh out the overworld map that the player will be using to navigate the gameworld, dropping in assets (finally - I was getting REAL tired of staring at the same, ugly, scribbly texture I had down as a placeholder: like a compass drawn by an epileptic second grader) and getting locations blocked out and locked down. I am getting very excited about it.

There: some (kind of ugly) test screens of what will eventually become the map. Huzzah!

I’ve also been hard at work creating some new tilesets and assets for new areas. Hooray, pictures!!

And, finally, the inventory system is (just about) finished - creating instanced items, each with their own set of tracked stats, i.e. power, durability, item XP, etc.

So, yeah, that’s pretty much where we stand right now. I can feel a public alpha/test build a’brewin’ - right around the corner now. Once again, thanks guys, for all the feedback, dropping by and taking a peek, and encouraging words. You guys rock.

What is best in life?

-Matt

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

a drawing I did because I was bored😪. But I love how it turned out.😊

I worked so hard to get all four of them to the end safely, but then...

An infected room from the second part of Cybel ! Are you up for some cleansing?

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
