It’s been a while since the last post, as usual…
I had to deal with my studies and I had a lot more work than last year, but I still made significant progress regarding Super Glovekid
First of all, all 30 levels have been finalised
That means the only things left to do are : the final boss, the cutscenes and the user interface.
I’ve also completed the introduction cutscene. That’s where the two gif images are from.
The camera has been slightly modified. There is now a (pretty) small margin before it starts moving, similar to the 16-bit Sonic games. It still moves forward when you’re running at top speed though.
Finally, I’ve modified the first 5 levels to make them a tiny bit longer and more engaging (before that you could complete them in almost 20 seconds - not that fun)
I also need to correct a mistake I made in the previous post. I said the game was coming to Windows, Mac and Linux. However, it seems GameMaker Studio 1.4 can only export to Ubuntu ( the IDE refers to it as “Ubuntu (Linux)” ).
I’m not very familiar with Linux so there might be workarounds for Debian users but for now I can only promise an Ubuntu release when it comes to Linux.
The Mac and Ubuntu versions might also be released after the Windows version (since I have no experience with these platforms there might be some important details I’m not aware of)
