Progress Update (11/10/22)


It's been a while! I say, as if people actually look forward to this game, yet here I am.

I've entered my second year of university, so work is getting slow, again. Anyway, recently I just started going "you know what, I need to work on this again", so I have been in what little free time I have.

Some things I've already begun to do are completely alter character's skillsets and add a better element system. Enemies now have weaknesses to certain weapons/elements, which you can find by using the All-Seeing Eye in battle.

In addition, I recorded over 5 hours' worth of gameplay, both just because I like doing so and so I could rewatch it and make a checklist of things I need to change in the prologue/chapter 1, because I'm not satisfied with them, particularly the latter. See, I played Octopath Traveller recently, and let's just say it was a source of huge inspiration.

As such, this is the aforementioned checklist and how much has been crossed off:

  1. Fix several grammar mistakes/blunders/flowery writing (done)

  2. Add a general shop to Pacificae Village (done)

  3. Add more dialogue choices (done)

  4. Add some side quests to Chapter 1 (partially done)

  5. Revamp several cutscenes (done)

  6. Add an investigation sequence to the Fortress (done)

  7. Fix several other events (done)

That's basically the gist of that.

I do this because several things will not cross over to save files, such as updated skills, so people would have to restart. This is why I'm making a definitive edition of the first part of the game, so you won't have to do that. It'll just be a better game in general.
