Progress Update! (8/8/2024)


Hey everyone! It's been awhile since our last post, and today we've got some news to share on POPGOES 2! Of course, we had to do it on the 10th anniversary of FNaF, and we have some BIG updates to share with you all! So, instead of sitting here wasting time, why don't we just get right into it?

First of all, yes! Reprinted Popgoes now has a model! In the Reprinted side of the Tech Demo, you'll be facing against him, so his model has been of great importance, and hopefully you like him as much as we do!


Next off, well, how about we show our progress on the different rooms? We have a lot of work done here, so I'll be showing off one of the cameras for the game.

If you couldn't tell, this is the hallway from PG1, but a little different. This will be used in the Reprinted version of the game, but not from this angle (it'll be somewhere else, the viewpoint here was just for modeling purposes). Oh, and in case you are curious, this is the camera but with a filter over it (which is how it will look in game).

I'd show more cameras, but I think that would be better if I waited for the demo to come out, so at least there'll be SOME surprise, y'know?


Alright, now that we've shown some cameras, why not also show some behind the scenes stuff too? So, here's a couple BTS images from the game:

Not gonna show where they are from (though, some might be more obvious than others), but I can say that these rooms are getting better and better. I can't thank Foxxy enough for the work she's been doing for the team.


So, current team stuff. We recently had a team member leave, as they decided they couldn't keep up with the project and that they overestimated their own skills. That, and our main animator is currently unable to do work for the project, leaving the animations to me and Foxxy for now. Right now, the project's progress is going fairly smoothly, so I doubt we'd need to get anyone else on the team at the moment. This could change sometime in the future, but for now, the project will continue as normal. We truly appreciate the support that has been given for the project, and I think it's finally about to pay off. We are super excited to show you what we've been cooking up, so I hope you'll be able to wait just a little bit longer.


Alright, so what about progress overall? Well, we are only missing about 3 maps before we can consider all cameras and maps finished. Super exciting stuff! Programming has been going (mostly) smoothly, and we might be able to start doing playtesting in the near future! The only things that really might slow us down a bit is the animation stuff, but hopefully not too much. We are still aiming for the Late 2024 predicted release date, but that could always change in the future. In any case, the game is getting really close to completion, so just keep an eye out for a confirmed release date sometime in the future!


And that's the end of the devlog post today! We've been working hard on the game, so we really can't wait to get this game out.
