[Prototype Release!]
[I recommend playing desktop version for best experience. Browser one is not tested properly]

READ THIS AFTER PLAYING THE GAME, ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS!
============================================
Hello!
I would like to announce that EBT Prototype is now officially available to play in browser and on your desktops!

I will not go on another rant explaining why, but tldr: I will go on year long, off internet, off electronics, can't draw hiatus that will begin on April 8th, 2026. Don't worry it's not a health thing, it's something I don't want to discuss online (learned that the hard way unfortunately)
It's sad n stuff, but at least I got time to slightly polish the current build and release it to the public!

Since I will be gone for a while, I will not be able to fix any issues you guys can find in the game, but it doesn't mean that game isn't up to criticism, feedback or bug report. I'll address these issues later next year lol. But also do keep in mind that this build is a heavy WIP that wasn't meant for public eyes - so it will 100% have not the best playtesting time or quality of the final game (that will release in 2027 now, sigh)

From common bugs and imperfections this build have that I aware of myself:
1. Placeholder art. Everything is placeholder art.
2. Missing sound effects. A lot of sound effects are not currently implemented.
3. Treecrawler (enemy). This guys is a little mess, mainly I was too late to realize that his normal state is a bit boring to deal with. They create interesting gameplay scenarios for the player, which is something I want to achieve making every enemy unique, but at the moment I would like to acknowledge that in normal state they should have something to do other than stand still. Also the healing mechanic needs some sort of boost features to make going through this enemy quicker. You guys can suggest what this enemy should do and how you would rework it! If you want to of course...
4. Double Attack (skill). This one become a problem later in development when skill was added first and bonus "press spacebar while attacking for another hit" was added later. Makes the whole "double attack" shtick this skill have kinda pointless when player already can attack 2 times (even if with smaller damage) with both characters. I think best way to rework this skill is to make it Triple Attack skill or something similar like that.
5. The Win Screen. Sometimes when you die/run win screen can get stuck while counting your score, enemies you killed etc. I honestly not really sure why and under what circumstances it happens - but if you press spacebar to skip the counting it usually resolves the issue. It's a bit annoying bug yes, but it shouldn't get you softlock from what I understood while working on the game.

Notes:
1. Game already supports a lot of Ranks to go for. Ranks are based on how much score you got, how many enemies you killed and how many batches of enemies you defeated. In total currently in the game there are 12 unique Ranks (and 2 extra ones for insane people that I believe are genuinely impossible to achieve, which is why I don't give percentages for getting them. Just get the 12th one and you can be considered done with Story Mode). If I didn't fucked up anything within the code - the maximum percentage you can get in this build is 20% which requires you to get 12th Rank - P Rank (defeat 75 batches). Obviously you can go playing forever but if you want that sweet 101% on your save file - there are things to go for! But please don't take Ranks that seriously, this is not a competition - it's just a fun replayability factor and it's very fitting for score based game like EBT.
2. While in main menu of the game you can press "3" on your keyboard to activate experimental Rolling HP Meter Mode inspired by Mother series. Yk when you get hit in these games and your hp begin counting down? That system? Yeah there is a similar game modifier in this build! It's definitely the least playtested feature that I added as "what if", just to see how this will be played with my battle system. I don't have plans making this core feature of the final game but I'll throw this mode as bonus in Challenges Mode on release.

So yeah have fun checking that out!

If you have anything to add feel free to do so! I would love to hear what people think about the game so far, what you like about it, what dislike about it and what can be improved in... far future.
that's all I have for now, cya guys later!
