same rules apply here if you want to know what the rules are go to my post about the gen 1 pokemon it was literally my last post so it won't be hard to find, with hat being said lets get started
chikorita line, reptiles
so when it comes to pokemon like this I've decided to make a rule, if the pokemon is just an animal with something attached it will be counted as that animal, for example meganium is a dinosaur with a flower on it so I'm counting it as a reptile and not a plant
cyndoqill line, mammals
totodile line, reptiles
sentret line, mammals
hoothoot line, birds
ledyba line, invertebrates
spinarak line, invertebrates
crobat, mammal
chinchou line, fish
pichu, mammal
cleffa, mammal
igglybuff, mammal
togepi line, ???
what are these supposed to be? togepi is an egg thing and I don't know what togetic is supposed to be, is it an angel? is it like a fairy of some kind, I have no idea
natu line, birds
mareep line, mammals
bellossom, humanoid
marill line, mammals
sudowoodo, inanimate
keep in mind sudowoodo is merely pretending to be a tree and not an actual tree
polittoed, amphibian
hoppip line, plants
aipom, mammal
sunkern line, plants
yanma, invertebrate
wooper line, amphibians
keep in mind wooper is supposed to be an axolotol and quagsire is a giant salamander
espeon/umbreon, mamals
murkrow, bird
slowking, mammal
misdreavus, ???
the thing with misdreavus is that according to the pokedex its the decapitated head of a woman, so should I put it in humanoid? I don't quite feel comfortable with doing so since its just a head and all the other humanoid pokemon are full bodies
unown, ???
wobboffet, ???
so this is a confusing one as this poekmon has two conflicting origins, its based on both a news reporter and a punching bag so should I put it in the humanoid, inanimate or, ??? category
girafarig, mammal
pineco line, invertebrate
keep in mind these are bagworms and not a pincone and...whatever the hell foretress is trying to be
dunsparce, invertebrate
now I know that the creature this is based off of is a snake but this clearly isn't a snake, its more of a worm than anything
gligar, mammal
okay so simialrly to wobboffet this is based on two different things, a bat and a scorpion. so is it a mammal or a invertebrate? based on what I'm looking at I'm gonna say mammal because it does appear to have a skeletal structure
steelix, reptile
subbull line, mammals
quilfish, fish
scizor, invertebrate
shuckle, plant
I know this might seem wired but apparently shuckle is based on a type of moss or mold, so I'm gonna mark it as a plant (really tho what even is this thing)
heracross, invertebrate
sneasel, mammal
teddiursa line, mammals
slugma line, invertebrates
swinub line , mammals
corsola, invertebrate
now this one I had to think about because it's a rock type so I had to ask myself, "is this a rock or a coral" this is because corals are animals and so making this distinction really mattered. however according to the pokedex toxapex likes to eat them (like how real crown of thorns starfish eat real coral) and the galraian form is bleached white (like real dead coral) so I think its fair to say that this is a coral and not a rock
remoraid, fish
octillery, invertebrate
delibird, bird
mantine, fish
skarmory, bird
houndour line, mammals
kingdra, fish
phanpy line, mammals
porygon 2, ???
same thing as regular porygon, do I count it as inanamate if its AI?
stantler, mammal
smeargle, mammal
tyrouge line, humanoid
smoochum, humanoid
elekid, ???
so like...what is this? it evolves into electabuzz with is very much a mammal but this thing doesn't strike me as one....what should I put this as
magby, reptile
this is like the opposite of elekid because I don't know what elekid is supposed to be but I understand what it evolves into but with magby it looks like some kind of lizard so I'm putting it as a reptile but I have no idea what magmar is supposed to be
miltank, mammal
blissey, ???
raikou, entei, and suicune, mammals
larvitar and tyranitar, reptiles
so this is wired, larvetar and tyranitar are clearly meant to be lizards or dinosaurs or whatever. but pupatar is a cocoon!?!? so I have to categorize it differently
pupatar, invertebrate
why is it a cocoon!?!?!?
lugia, reptile
so this is another wired one because its the ruler of the legendary birds but it has very reptilian traits, what tipped the scales for me was the way it swam, it uses its tail and legs for swimming (like crocodiles and lizards) instead of its wings, which is how birds swim
ho-oh, bird
celibi, humanoid
this was a wired one because its another "is it a plant or animal" type deal, I went with animal as it doesn't really act like a plant, it doesn't get energy from sunlight it it moves around quite a bit, plus its supposed to be some kind of fairy or pixie so I think this makes sense
and that's two generations down, tune in tomorrow for the hoenn mons
