I guess I should also delve into my inspirations and thought process a bit here. Emerald was mostly inspired (besides Green, of course) by toothed worms, like bloodworms and ringworms. My and my friend actually argued over what his head design should be for a while. We tossed many different ideas, a giant eyeball, Green's head without the eyes, something mechanical, but we just couldn't land on one that we both liked. Eventually though, I said "Wait, what if he just didn't have a head?". Boom. Peak character design. A goal we had for each redesign was to make each character feel a bit more organic. You can see this with Emerald here with his added fleshiness and fat folds. We wanted to make them seem well-fed. We also gave him more limbs to make him feel a bit more alien. He originally had 4 arms and 4 legs but I trimmed one since I thought it looked a bit cluttered.

Well anyways, up next is Orange, now called Amber. Here's his original design:

Our main goal with him was to make him more appear more powerful and intimidating, which I feel like we did well. Giving him more muscle and fat to make it seem like there's meat on his bones, and a bigger, stronger jaw with more carnivorous teeth. He was also given scratches and scares to make it seem like he's been in and won more fights than you have. His right eyeball is also made of flesh and has a giant bite taken out of it, while his left eye is real and intensely focused. He was inspired by alligators / crocodiles / who the hell knows as well as classic dinosaur designs.
