Random Question: What are your favorite indie games?

(+ My thoughts about Indie Games in the article below)

If you're not sure what an indie game is, it's a game made by small independent developers!

Indie games are incredibly popular today, but why? Well, here's some reasons:

  • The ideas and concepts introduced is so creative, which makes the game not only more enjoyable and interesting to play; but also makes each and every indie game very unique

  • Most indie games are really good at story-telling, and the gameplay is also very engaging

  • Presents an amazing impact in the end, it could be a good feeling of accomplishment, better understanding of the topics the game tackled about, etc.

  • For indie games that focuses mostly on story, it sometimes dives into interesting topics, and broadens them throughout the game. This helps the players understand the topic more, and educates them about what it's like or about. There are games that focuses on morality (OFF and UNDERTALE), mental health (OMORI and Night in the Woods), religion (Cult of the Lamb), and many more.

  • Treats games like art, there are some games that hold a special message for players to understand. Take for an example, Celeste: Self-Acceptance, Perseverance, and Self-Improvement

I could go on, but I don't want the article to be very long xD

I personally love indie games! I love to try out indie games I haven't played before, and it's such an amazing experience! I get a lot of inspiration and ideas based out of the games I play, and I get to enjoy a lot of games that other people know too!

It's very inspirational to see how a small team of people can work on an incredible game together, it really shows that passion can get you that far if you persevere.

Before I end this article, I'd like to recommend you guys to explore games that you haven't tried yet. There are so many games out there that deserve so much appreciation and recognition, and it would be awesome for you guys to see what those games have to offer. You never know, you could learn a lesson from that game, or you might end up enjoying it's interesting gameplay. But yeah, it's up to you!

Anyway, that's it! Thanks for reading this post until the end, I appreciate it, and I hope I educated you guys a bit about indie games ^^
