Realm of Rulers 0.5 Progress Sneak Peek


Version 0.5 Progress

Version 0.5 of Realm of Rulers has some really cool features to improve gameplay and fun! Also this version of the game will be using the newest version of the Unreal Engine!

Updating Realm of Rulers To UE 4.15

We are moving the game to Unreal 4.15. This is taking some time as some issues arise from a change like this but the feature difference is astronomical! One of the main features that we are using is the auto LOD system. This mean the models and foliage will decrease their detail as you move away.

This should improve frame rate considerably for most users.

Dropping Items

In the current build of RoR once your inventory fills up you cannot remove any items to free up space.

In 0.5 we are working on an item system which gives the player the ability to drop and pickup items. This will be useful for other applications in the future but for this patch it is kept simple to test for bugs and issues!

Outlaw Attacks

There are very little threats or dangers in the current build but in the next this will all change! When your town starts to grow it will not attract much attention unless you seek a fight.

In 0.5 the outlaws will observe your towns population and defenses. You will have to defend your town and people with weapons and guards. The outlaws are smart however. They will start an army based on your town size and population!

Make sure to start fortifying your base before the update drops!

Guards and Protection

In the upcoming patch we will introduce the first version of town guards.

These citizens will cost barley and their weapon type. For now the only type of guard will be the swordsman. This guard requires barley and a sword to be trained. They will wander your village and if any outlaws come they will rush and defeat them.

This system is very new but will be improved throughout the next couple of patches.
