If anyone cares, the reason my game runs differently on different settings is because my charactercontrollers used Update() instead of FixedUpdate() in the unity game engine. Before now I had always built my character controllers off of ones I found online, and this was first my first attempt at doing it without reference. Again the game will be patched (and maybe ported to mobile for my friend) in around 4 days.
