By the end of September, we began to define an art style for the game, beginning with some concept paintings that were done by our Art Director:
At the start of October, the first iteration of Lirec was modeled and the animation process had begun:
At the same time, work also began on a second concept level which turned out to be a big improvement over the first. It was much, much bigger, it had better level design, and it really embodied the Metroidvania style which is what we wanted to go with for the game.
