So turns out things weren't as bad as I thought, I don't have to make the compromises I thought I needed to cause all I really needed to do was just include the necessary assets in the download folder.
That said it does mean you now need to follow some instructions to play the game as intended, but I think it's pretty easy to grasp and it will make the experience much better imo.
I did also additionally lower the HP of the grind monsters, to where now you can kill them more easily at LV 4 instead of 5 like before. Which should make the grinding portion go by somewhat faster so it's less tedious.
