🎄 Results of 2020 and the offensive of 2021 🎄 [31.12.2020]

Well, another year has come to the end... I must say it was just something.

Hundreds of thousands of changes, both minor and simply huge, all this mess with the virus, a bunch of cool releases in the video-game and not much in the movie industry, constant unrest in society, etc. Feels like it was the craziest, most hectic, but at the same time very eventful year in my life. I never expected such changes, especially when I got used to the usual order of things, when you live as if you were on a schedule, and then - bam! - everything is changed. But, as they say, all changes are for the better.

In any case, I've finally figured out all my affairs and now, being relatively free, by tradition in honor of the end of the year I'll talk a little about what we we’ve been through and what we’ve achieved this year, and what we're planning to do in the future. Enjoy this reading, everyone ;з

✨ Part 1. The Great Changes ✨

As I said before, this year has been eventful in terms of changes not only in my life, but in the others' lives as well. Everyone has experienced something new in one way or another, and there was no exception for me. It all started with the transition from full-time to distance learning, thanks to which I began to spend almost all my time on lessons, sometimes sitting up for them from 8 AM to 6 PM, which’s why I then couldn’t do practically anything for DT or something else. But this kind of education has borne fruit - almost impeccable performance in all subjects and I can’t help but rejoice :D

Further, my range of interests expanded a little, and I started to get a little bit more involved with the screenwriter and game development. Not that I haven’t been caught before, but in these two directions I’m definitely see my future, so I’ll try to develop them in the future. Plus, Thanks to the Toby Fox concert and my high school friend, I suddenly started learning to play the piano. So far, it’s been a mixed success, but I like what’s already there, so thanks a lot to Toby for his gorgeous soundtrack, which I want to perform first of all :"з

The changes have also affected my domestic, family life. I became more responsible in household chores, began to cook more and better, but the price of that was the separation of my parents from each other. I'm not going to talk too much on this topic, but I’ll say that everything ends, sooner or later, and that’s okay, that’s good in some cases. You gotta keep going forward, changing and trying something new despite of your previous failures. It’s very important not to close after a mistake and continue to evolve and try to be happy. Yes, it hurts when your usual life ends and you realize that everything you used to live before doesn't matter now, but you need to try to look at it from the other side, find the good sides in these changes, find out that these obstacles aren’t stumbling blocks, but stepping stones. It’s important to keep growing, not sit in the chair and let others go, no matter how much it hurts you...

Well, after all, I grew up as a writer and an artist :D The DT's artistic style has changed more than once and in the future (if we get to it) it’ll definitely change, just like my syllable, but I'm happy with the growth that has happened to me. I still have something to aspire to, like writing dialogues and regulating my ideas, but most importantly, I need to learn how to work in a team, and I hope that over time I will achieve these things too. You can’t always do it all by yourself, right?

Well, we’re finishing this chapter and moving on to the next.

✨ Part 2. DoctorTale And Some Special Events, Which I Used To Miss ✨

Unfortunately, there was nothing special about DT’s life this year, except for the script and the growth of the script and the height of the skill in the drawing, of course. Posts began to come out once a month, and sometimes in two, there are even fewer special screenshots, music has not been delivered at all and so on. So now the game isn’t in the best possible state as I’d like, plus, I missed all the important holidays I only could to :""DD

But to correct my mistake and keep it THIS year, and not carry it any further, I’m gonna give you a quick congratulations on a couple of evens and move on:

🎉 09/16 – 3rd DT Anniversary. We’ve come a long way from the redrawn Undertale with the replaced textures and repainted sprites to the large crossover of the two universes: UT and Doctor Who, and we have no plans to stop. Unfortunately, you can’t yet judge how much history has changed, but I promise that next year you’ll definitely notice the growth. Let’s see where this big trip takes us! ✨

🎉 10/31 – 2nd DeltaRune Anniversary. The second brainchild (according to some sources, the first one in terms of ideas) from the great Toby Fox, who amazed everyone with his improved style, music and HUGE nostalgia for the UnderTale times. I still remember how everyone then began to panic that there is no need for fan games when we have an official AU (now the situation is repeated with TS! US), but in the end we know that people were even more inspired by this game and began to make more and more arts, covers and games. For now, the sequel’s successfully being done, so good luck Toby, let him heal his wrist and thank him for all his masterpieces! ✨

🎉 11/23 – 57th Doctor Who Anniversary. For 57 years, the series has continued to storm screens and fans imagination. The show went through the ups and downs, got shut down, lost the classical episodes, but it’s always stayed alive. Yeah, now a lot of people’re gonna say the show’s not in the best shape, the plot is wrong and there’s something missing, but I sure with a new showrunner the show can be transformed again. On top of that, they just need a little time to accept the stories of 11-12 seasons, as it did with the 6th Doctor’s era and the TV movie with the 8th. In any case, the prosperity of this great modern-day series! ✨

And a couple of «extra» congratulations:

🎉 12/11 – DarkFlowerTale’s release. The game from the man who got me here finally came out after two or three years of development. Actually, it’s only an Alpha version, and the English-speaking community of UnderTale can’t play it yet, but Yan will one day make a full Demo with supported English, and then you will also appreciate this game ;з ✨

🎉 12/24 – TS! UnderSwap release. The mastodon of the whole UnderTale community comes out after four years of development in the end of 2020? Is it really possible? I’m not dreaming?? What’s next, the UnderTale: Yellow Chapter Two release in December 30th??? :DDD Well, it’s actually a landmark event. After all, one of the largest and first projects in the life of the fan base, in which a lot of effort and time was invested, so the creators deserve their status. But I honestly admit that I'm not a fan of theirs and often disagree with their decisions (Burgyyy), but still I can't help but be impressed by their creation. A bunch of mechanics, characters, music and animations all combine to create one of the legendary (thanks to its long-term construction) UnderTale fan-games of all. All I have to do is play this game, but I’ll only do it sometime in early January. Anyway, with birth, I guess ✨

Well, this case is closed. Back to DT, what do we have this year? Posts written – 10, plus one big post-article on UnderTale’s fifth anniversary, script pages written – 258, drawn sprites (with some from last year) – ~1260, GameJolt is opened, and… That’s all. Hmmm, not enough. All hopes are only for next year, in which I expect to deal with DT, preferably finally, but this is the topic of the next chapter.

✨ Part 3. What’s Next? ✨

A friend of mine once told me I shouldn’t be telling my plans for the future, because then you can decide in advance that you have achieved them and you won’t do them, but I’ll still express a couple of thoughts about what I want study in 2021, at least in DT.

In the next month or two, complete the script.
Write to some people I would like to ask for help in the development, namely: music, concept art, translation, and, if possible, spriting.
Hope to create more interesting art for DT from the cover of posts to the rushes to the specials for number of subscribers, birthdays, etc.

And at the same time gradually to the morris of original. Yes, the whole history of DT’s unlikely to be released, since it’ll take about 6 years, and doing this for so many years... Well… Kind of fishy business. Considering no one’s gonna need it after that. So I’ll be finishing up the demo and gonna gradually write my own script, and then we'll see in which direction we go further. But now we go to the final chapter.

✨ Part 4. Thanks ✨

I’m thankful this year for everything it brought. Yeah, it might sound crazy, because in 2020 there was a lot of unpleasant stuff like coronavirus, but... All the while, it was the changes that knocked us out of our comfort zone and made us move and change, which is incredibly important to a person.

I’m thankful to Ksan for the friendship, the help, and that he was actually there every day. In fact, he’s a wonderful man, even if he can be a bit of a drain :D Unfortunately, he didn't get to work on DT any longer and beyond the menu, but we did a good job with him on SwapFell. Good luck with his studies next year, so he can retire as a programmer at the HPS.

I'm thankful to Toby Fox for a wonderful concert on the 5th anniversary of his debut and especially for his performance - I have been listening to this masterpiece for 3 months now and cannot hear enough :"з Also thanks to Temmie for her help Toby and the art that she posts on Twitter - it's something wonderful :""з
