Hey y'all! It's been a while since I've done a full devlog like this. I wanted to get this out on December and, fortunately, I was able to get it out before January. A lot of progress has been made these past few months, Let's go over them:
The Official Youtube Channel
Starting off, I'd like to announce that the official youtube channel for Roaming And Wandering has been made:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMPkY9clkUeLzW6qTx6bpUA
Right now it is only the OST that has been uploaded on there, but as the days go by, we will continue to upload Announcements, Art, etc over there.
Speaking of the OST...
New Music
The section with probably the most progress made on it so far. We have not one, not two, but six new tracks to show:
Kiara, Prodigy Mechanic:
The theme of the prodigy mechanic, Kiara. Learn more about her in the Meet the Cast post.
Sevarro:
The theme of Kiara's Guardian, Sevarro. Learn more about them in the Meet the cast post aswell.
Mischievous Endeavor:
A track that plays for usually more comedic moments. It also plays for when you meet the Bandit Leader.
Wall Warrior:
Plays when... Well, I don't think I can spoil that just yet.
Vereczyk:
An area theme for when you're exploring the outskirts of town. It's a lot more peaceful and quiet out here then in the kingdom.
Campfire Banter:
"In the distance, you see a lone, unlit campfire."
"You light it up, and feel the warmth of the fire. Perhaps you could stay for just a bit longer..."
Sprites And Art
Besides Music, there has been plenty made for the Art section of development. @Cat
has been working hard on this for the game, and there wouldn't have been as much progress without him. I can't show you all of it, but here are some things I can show
Enemy Sprites
Here are some animations for some of the enemies of the game.

These little creatures are called Pestables. They are a natural part of the world's wildlife, and are nothing but mindless hungry pests. They were once regular vegetables that have absorbed too much Ardor and gained sentience. Despite their scary looks, they are barely a danger at all. When grouped in packs however, they can be pretty frightening...
Sprite Reworks
We have made some improvements to the old sprites. Specifically the side-sprites of characters.

Sneak Peak...?
Here's a sneak peak for something that's to come:

Hmm, wonder what this could be...
Coding
I am afraid to say that this has been the section with least amount of progress made. The original coders were busy so it was up to me to work on the coding for the game.
However, that doesn't mean that there is nothing to show for this section. Here are a few showcases for the battle system:
Beginning Battles:
A Combat System I made as a test:
Originally I wanted to combine these two systems, but I unfortunately didn't have enough time to do that, and with the devlog's deadline approaching, it means that I'll just have to do that later.
I will keep you updated if there is any progress on the programming side.
Writing
I am happy to say that the script for the Prologue Demo has been finished! Here's a little sneak peak of it:

The script for the prologue demo alone accumulated to about 18 pages, which... is certainly a lot for a demo.
Conclusion
A lot has definitely been made. Although we are still far from releasing the Prologue demo, and development has slowed down a bit since last time, this game won't be dying anytime soon. I still don't know when we'll be able to release the Prototype Demo, but hopefully I'd have it out by late 2026/early 2027. Yes, I know that is still a while but that's the earliest I'd say it would come out with the current pacing of development.
See you in the next Devlog. (Which you probably won't have to wait that long for... Hopefully)
