Sandbox Play - Graphics and performance

Hello,

It’s been almost 4 months since I last made any news about this game. I’ve been very busy with school and it’s not getting any easier.

Even though I’ve had little time for development I made a lot of progress on the visual side of the game as well as the main gameplay point - physics.
Graphics options will be extended allowing effects such as blur, AA and SSAO. Everything can be seen in here:

To improve physics on a low end PC I will also be implementing a physics quality slider which will let you control the number of debris each block can create upon breaking. Even though this will improve the overall performance of the game, the feel of the physics will be drastically changed.

The game also got a new terrain which will replace the old one but you will still have an option to select which environment you would like to build on. Apart from the terrain, which affects your surroundings I’ve also given though to custom textures being loaded from a folder. I still haven’t implemented this completely but It’ll come in an update at some point.

That sums up what I’ve been doing on the project in the past 4 months. It’s taking shape to be a quite interesting physics simulation / explosion game which combines the elements of Minecraft and Medieval Engineers.

Just as Pecaminosa's musicians #improvise this rendition of #LittleSunflower 🌻, so do we improvise with this post you're reading. 😂

What's coming out of your own improvs? 🤔

Been working lately on lots of 'behind-the-scenes' boring stuff that no one really cares about, so here’s a guy playing the sax for some reason.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
