As usual I forgot to write down the patch notes, so here’s what I conciously remember changing:
All three maps have been changed a bunch; shortcuts have been nerfed, visuals have been improved and routes have been changed slightly.
The entire user interface has been overhauled with a shiny new modern age look. The lobby screen has recieved the most changes. (Listed here).
Credits have been added. (Took a while finding the exact sources for all those character faces. Some of them are still unknown.)
Fastest lap times are now recorded for each track! The game tells you how far behind your record time you are at each checkpoint.
The game now keeps track of your settings along with your lap records and saves them, even in the web version.
The next checkpoint on your path is now highlighted in-game and on your minimap.
Seaside Hill has been renamed to Green Hill Zone. (It never really looked like the real Seaside Hill)
The snow map is now pretty much feature complete and has been renamed to Ice Mountain. Unfortunately I never really got to making that cave I wanted to have there.
New character: DR. AGGMEN! He’s set as the 8th AI ball by default.
Smaller improvements and fixes here and there.
