Yeah, Children's Day, in Poland that is. So basically I got gift cards and now I don't have any excuses for why I can't buy YIIK, which is something I've been thinking about for another unrelated project. I wouldn't consider myself to be a fan of YIIK, hell, I've heard of the game because of bad video game essayists, but I wanna try it. But that doesn't contribute much to what the devlogs are, so what's on my mind?
Trying to motivate myself to actually do the JA update. Though I do plan on reconstructing the game's page so that NOW it reflects what JABE is supposed to be, but only after I get the actual game close enough to be complete. Sure, it means the old description section is gone but what are you going to do, cry about it and say how JA used to be "good", and I say this in quotes because there was no public game, or even a demo, of JA before 2021, or in my knowledge. Technically, there is but that's more of a loose thread and to call it a "JA" game is debatable.
I haven't gotten an illness, no, I got even better, MORE neck pain! ...On today. Just why. Yeah, so because of what today it is, I obviously haven't done much and also gonna be busy with other projects at the moment. Though I remember that I was gonna make an animation, it's not related to this, but I really like making it and now I wanna redo it.
A reason why I say this is because originally I used frames within an actual video editing software. While it works at the time, the problem was that it wouldn't let me do more than just still frames with the occasional mouth flap change. So I tried to make .gifs, but that didn't work, but then I struck a sweet deal; videos with an alpha channel, which was the excellent solution for what I'm looking for, as for one, it can be replaced for any kinds of dubs, and for two, it didn't mean cluttering the project media tab with SO MUCH files.
It's a good thing since I refuse to edit like 6 frames on a video layer, and then copy and paste every time I do so when I can just streamline whole process to a T. All I would have to do is just trim the video down and voila, it's so much easier. Yeah, that's about what I can say about it.
I'll see you guys on the next devlog.
