What happened?


Not much I can write about, except there is progress for the remake I was talking about in the 52th devlog.
I don't expect anybody to know exactly what's in the remake, but if it's out, then yeah, that's the remake.

Also Jonathan's Adventure 3 exists. Why? I don't know. Maybe Juana wants to milk JA2 badly but couldn't just make it another RPG Maker game so they decided to make a FNAF game about it whilst calling them "professionals."

Yeah, I'm definitely hiring the professional retards for my games. Apparently, the code for JA2 is that retarded enough to include a condition for the three party members that just face FORWARD. In case if you haven't played JA2, this is where Octillery and the Awesome Team meet ex-president Ronald Reagan. I'm not obviously not going to dive in the details like "Why is the background pink instead of the typical white checkerboard," since, well, that's because transparency in the game is pink, or why is there two maps called Reagan 1 and 2 (They're the same map except Reagan 2 has more events on screen than Reagan 1, where Reagan uses the crystal ball to see Totally-Not Bick.). The important matter is why use those switches exactly when it's simple enough to simple use the movement route command for the auto-run event (Which is the one that's in the bottom left corner of the map.)? And this isn't just some random tomfoolery that's in the game, there's another map in the game, called MAP0001 and it's just this.

By the way, it's exactly 100 x 100 tiles, so the grass just looks like a spot of green since it's in 1/8 view, and RPG Maker 2k/2k3's tiles are 16 x 16, which they're either twice as smaller as RPG Maker VX/VX Ace's tiles and three times smaller than RPG Maker MV/MZ's tiles. I don't really see the point of having this, unless you realize the fact that is the exact same goddamn map from Ultimate Jonathan's Adventure, which this game HAS stuff from that canned game. Albeit, it's weird to see that Cartoon Gloves can be equipped ANYONE despite the description saying it's Jonathan's gloves, the same applies to the Beuchat Down Jacket, except neither Kabi, Sasara, or Evadere can wear it. Oh what, it's okay for everybody to wear Jonathan's gloves, but Kabi is not gonna wear her boyfriend's jacket? Even I did that on my birthday party with my ex. And it doesn't make sense, since the Advanced Helmet's description says "Joel's helmet" and obviously Joel can wear it, minus the fact that Octillery, Lololo, Yellow, and Needlemouse can wear ANY of the previously said equipment, though it's not really possible to earn these equipment in any method in the game, so who cares. Except I do, but that's mainly because I'm a dork who loves to read The Cutting Room Floor pages.

And don't tell me that Juana wasn't one of the programmers of the game, because if that was the case, then why would any of the programmers leave a comment that specifically tells them "Hey X, this is Y"? Uh oh, the game's dead naming Juana! Oh what, cancel it because of a developer comment (Comments are never seen in the game, they're only there for developers only, so often they're used to point at a flaw at a code for some other developer to fix, function as sticky notes, or just explain what's happening in the code for less experienced programmers or to them in case if they want to go back, because trust me, you'll never remember exactly how you program something years ago without them.)?

So I don't have very high hopes of the team, which is now called Fluorescence. I mean, okay, they tried to replicate my art style for the teaser trailer for the game, but I can obviously tell they didn't bother nailing it down to a T. And this wasn't the first time, because they did it before with Shpitz VS Patchman. And it's close, but the shading is screwed up, because if Jonathan's shadow is on the left, then obviously any light on Sasara's hair should on the RIGHT, not on the left. Now, obviously it's a shitpost, but fuck it, if it's a shitpost or not, it gets the criticism, no exceptions, even if these are the same people who watched me do the artwork for Jonathan's Adventure! Classic by the way. How did they screw up the technique for Sasara's eyes? It's like they didn't understand that the darker color of her eyes is done by a soft brush, so instead, it's done like there's a sharp transition between three colors instead of a smooth transition of two colors. You know, this is why dumbasses shouldn't say "the creator's always better" because not only is it blatant hypocrisy coming from them, because come on, Jonathan's a rip-off of Parappa, so Parappa's automatically better, no contest, but it somehow works as a weird unintentional compliment to me because of how poor the artwork is. Now, obviously my artwork is not be all, end all da best, there are flaws to it, especially my older artwork, I want to strive being the best, but I can't simply say I'm the best, I got to work my way UP to say that, because that way, it's solid proof, since you have to have the best execution to do it, but FUCK. I would've be happily redrawing them myself, except I won't because if you disregard the elephant in the room of "Too many damn projects," I'm still working for shit, so obviously if they're shit, then I might as well be making my stuff out of said shit. The only shame that would given if that happened would be only for me, and even then, a stat and drama whore like Joey aren't going to owe me.

I don't know, maybe Jonathan's Adventure 3 will be good, maybe better than Jonathan's Adventure 2. I hope and I frankly don't plan to play the game, since I'm not into playing FNAF games, or simply any Clickteam games, but even if I do play it, I'm not going to expect something good in there. How did we make the joke of stupid sequels that seem like milking JA real? Okay, it's not yet real, because it's not fair to say that to a product that isn't released yet, but I know people are going to say "Seb, why do you care about JA? It's not yours, so why do you give a damn?" If people want a better JA game, then I would give in that demand. If the team isn't going to do it, then that's arguably my duty, because I don't see any other person going to do it at the given moment, or in actuality, ANYBODY's duty, it's not necessarily mine. If you want JA to be good, why not make fan projects out of it? You don't need them to be just a game, you can start small like a comic or a short. Because any respectful creator wouldn't just bully fans in order to stop projects they want to make, which is ironic because Juana is a fan of FNAF and Scott Cawthon is very vocal about supporting FNAF fan games. So is Juana a disrespectful creator? Arguably no, the "fanbase" is just ridiciously too small to sample and I don't see people caring much about Jonathan's Adventure, but oh well, guess I can funnel my passion in it. Is Juana like YandereDev? ...Sounds stupid and while you can argue they are, I'm going to say no, it's just too soon to just say it right then and there. It's not that I said no to these out of Stockholm syndrome, but more or less there's still some doubt to clear out first before setting it in. It's too easy to say yes and that needs to be challenged.

Ugh, I never exactly planned this to be the most longest dev log out of the rest, but that's somewhat how I do my development, sometimes it's more to the flow and sometimes it's much more thought out, except dev logs, I just tell you straight in and that's that, but I guess you can't really criticize something and just condense it down to a mere few words, it has to be explained thoroughly so that way, what it should be improved is straight forward and helpful to the developers, and not so much of the critic just gloating how they're the best one and the developer's some shithead, sprinkled in with death threats. I mean, exactly what does "cringe dialogue" even look like? Because if I had think what is cringe dialogue, I would arguably point at a Roku Kun The Vyonder video because there's no way that every character would speak Engrish. Ok sure, it's not wrong, because art intimidates life, and obviously not everybody speaks English fluently, but point is does this line makes sense to you? And by the way, these quotes come from the video "Dora Set A Violence Trap To Prank And Almost Killed Her Father [sic]" so you're welcome.
"No other father acts like you, idiot murderer piece of shit!" By Dora, no, Cole, Dora's dad, doesn't count because obviously his dialogue in English is meant to be poor.
Also the video, for some ungodly reason, doesn't allow Dora to say the word 'fuck,' but 'shit' get censored anyway? Like, why not just both censor them via a bleep anyway?
"He's [Dora's dad] completely insane and violence father than before!" By Dora. Again... Should be rewritten as "...and more violent than before!" Because "violence father than before" is a word salad.
Hell, it's not like there are GoAnimate videos with the worst dialogue ever but I can't name them on the top of my head, since I don't know a lot of names of GoAnimators, bonus points if they're a "good user." But it's 11 PM by the moment I'm writing this, so I gotta wrap it up already...
