Today's the first day of October, so that means spooky shit.
...Except there aren't going to be any spooky shit in here, so moving on.
So basically, I remembered that the comics exist and I have no idea what to make. While I'm still in progress with designing the game, I just barely have any ideas to come up any and I can't just use the ones that aren't related to the new build.
Now, I've been working on a separate project that hopefully I can get it out, because it's WAY shorter than any of the projects. Is it JA-related? Well, technically yes, but I like to keep this project a secret until I release the damn thing, because it'll blow way the fuck over once it'll be released but oh well, might as well BE prepared than be unprepared about it.
This recently has been a time of me returning to some projects that haven't gotten much work on, like for example, posting old music from say ZDSFLP, which I still am working on. I'm not sure how would "Beat is fun" work in the current build, because it was just one of the songs that I brought to JAMV (Nobody's going to make me say it as JAC, fuck off.) for only the demo. Maybe locked away as a in-game bonus game, I don't know.
Though speaking of music, I remember that there's an idea floating around for the new build in which unlike in the original build, there would be three separate boss music in the game. Now, why three? Because of the friendship system. It simply works by just changing to a music exclusive to the rank that's the average of Sasara, Imasu, and Kabi's friendship. A higher average or lower average will change what music is played when you're fighting a boss. While this isn't anything new, mainly because this is ALSO in another JA project that I'm working on, it kinda gives a player an idea if they're in a good or a bad relationship with their friends. Except in that one, that's exclusive to normal battles. I don't know exactly which song would work for the higher average, mainly because it's the last one I have to think over.
Next on that part, I did make two songs that are only in midi. One of them is a deliberately terrible ukulele song, but I have a bad feeling that you probably guessed what it is, so let's get to the next one; another song that uses Zane's Melody. Guess where it plays at, because if you think you're clever enough to know what is the terrible ukulele song used for, then you should be able to guess where the hell do you hear this one, and these songs are in the secret project by the way.
Back to #95, remember how I wasn't sure about carrying old battle voice clips into the new build? They might come back, but in different code. You see, I remembered that there's a thing called MOG Battle Cry, which solves the issue of the lack of different voices that the game can pick by letting you design a list of SEs it can pick on the basis of what condition happens in the game. While this isn't beginner friendly, since you HAVE to modify the plugin in order to make this work, it's worth the hassle of doing this. However, this may give a shakeup of the original work, because for one, I don't have any sources for the original clips and even if I did, they wouldn't work for like maybe 6 SEs per condition, and two, we don't have the same access for the original Jonathan and Sasara VAs, so the performance over there might not be the same when I get the new shit done.
So that's that for the devlog. See you next time.
