This Devlog will go more in-depth with what will happen to this project in the future and also some news!
So let’s begin; As I already stated in a smaller devlog and a post on my page, I’m taking over full development of forest.end. This means UniBrine is no longer fully working on this game for now, but he’s still bringing in the ideas and giving me instructions on how to do certain stuff and how he wants the final project to look.
First impressions, from us both, working on this project are pretty positive.
In the future, UniBrine and Yours Truely will be updating the site with new content like screenshots and other goodies so stay tuned for that.
OK enough of the boring stuff, let’s actually look at what I’ve done in my time working on this game. When I first got the game file from UniBrine, a lot of things we’re unfinished, which is understandable since we wanted to have the basic gameplay idea done first and then focus on the nooks and crannies.

This is the games main menu! I overhauled the texts and the design a little to make it look better on higher resolution monitors ( the game is in 700x430 ). From here you can; start a new game (obviously), access the options menu, customize the game and your character and look at achievements (more on that later…).
There are also some basic controls display on the side and THE LEAST IMPORTANT THING, an exit button.

That’s the options menu. From here you can set your volume, toggle screen mode and toggle V-Sync. There are also two additional Credits and Extras button which I havn’t worked on yet. There isn’t much here really, just a basic options menu.

This one is my favorite, mainly since it took a while to code it, but also because YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE YOUR CHARACTER AND COLORS here! Pretty epic, I know. With the negative color button you can change your color settings to photo negativ and with the screen color button to various other colors. yeah, that’s all for now!
I have also already made some changes to the main gameplay and the pause menu, but I’m not going to show that yet because of spoilers and stuff.
So, to come back to the achievement menu… I’m going to implement the gamejolt api into the game. Using this, you can sign in to gameplay through the game and earn achievements and collect highscores. More news on that sooooooooon…
Also, the last thing, there are probably not going to be a lot of long devlogs since UniBrine and I want to keep a lot of stuff a secret until the games comes out!
