Semptember Devlog!


Hello again everybody, it's me Semi and I welcome you to our September Devlog. This Devlog will be a lot smaller than the last Devlog, because we did not have that much progress. The reason for that was that I was busy and that I couldn't give many tasks. I will explain it later in the Devlog.

So, what are the topics of this month's devlog?
There are still plenty of topics I want to talk about, such as our team, our progress, and why our progress is not that much compared to the last one.
We might also have a small surprise hidden…you will see!

1. Team News!

Once again, our team has changed. Promazter is NOT in our team now and that is due to demotivation. He was a musician, but despite him leaving we obviously won't let his work be wasted and will use them and also credit him!
But what about his role as a musician?
Who will go for his place?
Well, let me introduce you to EZXPP, a team member of ToUL back then. But as you may know, there is no ToUL team anymore (and that is for good) since QSV did a lot of bad stuff.
He is also my friend and he really is an amazing person, who also makes awesome music!

2. Trusttale Progress!

OBVIOUSLY we made progress nethertheless. We especially made progress at writing, themes and coding.
So let's first clear up our writing progress. We fixed some plot holes and I planned some more things to “spice up” the lore for the full game. Every higher being now has a deeper role and meaning. An additional secret route with its own unique ending has been planned as well. Not only that, but we also balanced the new LV system. There WILL NOT be 100 levels as planned in the past. We reduced it to 50 and changed some values. Each level up now gives you +5 HP, +4DF and +9AT. These stats will of course be added to the Sans Demo as well.

Now about the themes. We have almost finished the whole OST for the first demo of the full games, which as revealed in the last Devlog is “The Caves”. The only thing missing are two themes, which are the two credit themes. We might upload it to SoundCloud soon!
I honestly can not thank our musicians enough for their hard work and effort, all of the themes are really nice and I am sure you will like all of them!

And last, but not least… coding. Honestly we have big bad news, but some of you all already know. QSV, who was our engineer in the past, got exposed to some really bad stuff. I do not want to talk about the QSV topic again, but all I will say is that he WON'T be part of our fangame anymore. We do not even want him to show up in our credits…so what did we do?
Sadly, we needed to cancel the first version of Trusttale with all its progress. So I started from 0 and try to make a new engine. Well, what have I done so far?
The overworld movement and a test room is finished, as well as some basics like walls, room transitions, etc.

Well there is not much visible honestly, but yeah that's how it looks so far.
I am currently working on the menus, dialogues and then I will start to make the actual fight thing.
Once again, I am really sorry for what happened, but what I can say is that it is looking better and more fancy when you actually play it. It is going pretty good so far.

3. Why is this devlog so much shorter?

There are many factors that stopped me from being more productive. One of the main factors was as I said the huge backslash of the QSV thing and (as always-) school. I had a lot of exams that I needed to learn for and I had a really hard time in general. I tried to make the best of it and this is kinda what I got so far.
Will October be better?
For sure. Especially now I have 2 weeks of holidays and I am ready to spend a ton of time on this.
I also had a problem with giving tasks considering that a lot has already been done, it is honestly just coding, which is kinda stopping us or giving us problems. I am really trying my best, but sadly I am also just a kid, who learns how to do it.
