Server Side

Behind every good game, there is a good server… Well, it’s maybe not 100% true, but in our case, we need a good server !

Glyph is a multiplayer game were each others to control the world. The real world. Just like in Pokemon Go.

Damned ! Is Glyph just a fade Pokemon Go copy ?

I hope not. Because, this is not a game about collecting Pokemon (we are collecting human souls, niark niark), but geolocalized, yes we are. And we are fighting to defend a territory. And what’s better territory than where you live, work, travel ?

So, it’s decided. Glyph is a geolocalized game were you have to increase the influence of your faction on a given territory.

And to achieve that, we need a server.

Currently, my choices are turned to Microsoft Azure Host + ServiceStack because it’s a couple of technology that I know very well. But this week I’ll try something new too. The new Asp.Net Core seems really interesting. I’m going to give it a try.
