the game ISN'T cancelled!! don't worry

i just wanted to make a little post about this on gamejolt as i've only really announced it on the discord: the game's on hold for an indefinite amount of time. i'd estimate maybe july for when i'll be getting back to development, but that's no promise.

the main reason for this is the state of the game's code is pretty dire and it's been getting kind of hard to work on. a lot of fangame developers tend to underestimate how big of a task making a game is, and i'm no exception. i also feel like i put the game page out WAY too early, since there's still so much to do for the game.

i decided i'd like to make something smaller and easier to work on in the meantime, an original indie game!! this mini-project is helping me learn better coding practices, plus helping broaden my horizons a bit.

this game doesn't have anything to do with undertale or deltarune, in fact it's not even an rpg. since it's such a small project however, it's gonna be out relatively soon. july is my goal for the full release, and by the end of this month i want some form of demo out.

i hope none of this news is too saddening!! shadowfell will return, i'm just taking a little break <3

UPDATE 18/05/2024: yo!!! development on the original indie game's going semi-well. as always, estimating the scope of a project early-on is always difficult haha. my new estimate is that it'll be done by august, so i've put a big notice saying shadowfell development will therefore continue in august!

i've been thinking about shadowfell a lot... now that i haven't worked on it for a while. i'll prob be a bit more secretive about development when i get back to it!!!
