As a small tiger cub, Shinji Furushima was orphaned and left with no memories of his parents, and whether they were still alive. He was then found and adopted by an old man named "Touki", who raised Shinji in a small dojo in Muro, a waterfront town located on an island southwest of the mainland Hōen of Japan. There, he taught him the traditional art of karate day after day. For years, Shinji looked up to Touki as a father figure and regarded his dojo as his home. One day, without warning, Shinji woke up to find his Aura powers activated; he struggled to control them at first, but Touki, a calm, patient sensei, helped him learn to control them over time. Unfortunately, it wouldn't take long for the wrong person to find out about his powers and report to Hexcorp Industries about a so-called "Bio-Monster" in Muro. Soon after, Hexcorp Troopers barged into the dojo, targeting Shinji with extremely serious orders to take him into custody. Preparing for the worst, Touki revealed to Shinji that he knew about his MetaMobian origins all along and told him that, if he dies to protect him, he was to start his journey throughout Japan, using his Aura powers to protect the innocent. After losing his beloved sensei, Shinji followed his wishes and used both his karate fighting skills and his Aura powers to fight for what's right.
