So this is the funni Sanity Bar
The bar will be damaged when you are damaged!
Running low enough to a certain level will increase the Delirium Level (or commonly can be said as Insanity Level)
There are 3 Level of Delirium:
The first level will make the bar dark gray, it will make the screen start to get blurry and darker like the given example
The second level will make the bar light red, and your screen from dark to slightly dark red and the blurry get more intense
The final level will make the bar fully red, and the screen go very blurry and dark red like this
When the Delirium Level increase, you will be damaged!
On Delirium Level 1 and 2, the damage is 1 hp / 2s
On Delirium Level 3, the damage is 1 hp / s
Normally, the bar will recover over time back to normal.
The recovery speed will depends on the difficulty you pick.
The harder, the slower.
Also, you can use an item called Tranquilizer (镇定剂) to get your sanity fully recovered, but I recommend you to not use it too soon for the following reason:
In the 6th turn count from the intro attack as turn 0, this eye thingy will appears, and it will totally cut off your natural sanity recovery from this point!
In the second part of the final attack, we have this funni hell simulator! The blood river below will basically eat your sanity with the speed of 180 sanity/s!
Also, there are 2 heals in this particular part of the final attack, which the amount of heal will be determined by a formula of
HEAL_HP = 50 - (15 * difficulty)
, which the difficulty value is 0 for Simple, 1 for Hard and 2 for Hell! But there won't be any sanity heal in this part!
In conclusion, save the Tranquilizer for the final attack as you can use up all of your healing before finale!
That's all about the basic of the Sanity Bar!
Now here's some extra facts to clear confusion if you unlocked the Sanity Mode setting after beating the game ONCE:
Firstly, the No Recovery option will totally cut off all the sanity recovery sources beside the Tranquilizer, including the provided sanity heal in the final attack.
Secondly, the Deteriorate, which will constantly draining your sanity instead of recover it, start when sans begin attacking in the intro! The speed will also depends on difficulty.
Thirdly, the only difference from the original game isafter the final blaster circle spam, the damage from the Delirium Levelwill no longer be lethal(which it will stop draining your HP once your HP is 1)!Updated: The damage from the Delirium is now back to lethal again even after the final blaster circle!
Lastly, for the crazy people going for both No Hit and Deteriorate at the same time, the sanity damage will not deal any damage at all!
(lmao you are gonna die in just a single hit anyway so it's reasonable)
