As is now traditional here are some sketch pages for Blood Of The Killer, mostly focused on the characters.

The design I had most trouble with was the Concerned Citizen, who was originally going to be a TV horror host with a medical theme. I liked the idea of a guy in medical scrubs who happened to be wearing a really crude, artificial looking rubber dracula mask as well... but I could never really settle on a look that worked, especially in comparison with the nurse design.

This character's original motivation was going to be as a kind of parodic foil to "The Killer", trying to murderproof people by converting them to piles of living blood and organs sitting in sealed tubs in a warehouse.

For a while I tried turning him into a "Country Doctor" to fit the setting more, with the black coat and hat, but again couldn't find a good look. At one point he was going to be a local talk show host called Dr Heart with a rubber heart mask that sprayed blood from the tubes. I thought this was really funny but eventually realised it was probably unconsciously ripping off the heart guy from Dorohedoro.

Eventually I dropped the "Doctor" idea entirely and just made him a kind of crazed conspiracy theorist. The idea for his look was that he'd have the same odd snoutlike mask as the townspeople, but drawn back into a painful looking death rictus from the factory fire all those years ago.

I am currently still just playing with ideas for the next game so will post some more production notes next week!
