🪵 LOG #2 🪵

We've been making good progress on ST. Slow and steady as usual for this game. As of late we've gotten most of the main cast of characters' retextures done. There could be tweaks made to them; however, I'm pretty confident that we've nailed them down and won't need to do said tweaks (Wahoo!). It feels good to finally be over this slight setback in development, but it was worth the time.

Now we can finally start modeling the new characters! We have eagerly anticipated this task, even prior to the decision to undertake retextures. This is where the fun part will begin, as I'll be designing some of these new characters! Making designs at a fast pace will be challenging for me, but this is a challenge I'm willing to accept. It's going to be so fun!

Recently I've been working on the game's design document, which is a document that contains all the plans for the game, including the plans for the gameplay. I've been mainly working on the character and game mechanics. It's not as easy as it sounds, as I go through many drafts and sometimes find myself thinking I can do better. The reason why I rely on a document is due to ideas being hard to come up with for me and also ideas being scattered around while not being finalized. I have dubbed this as a "grey zone game" for me, which means it's that one game in particular where you struggle to come up with ideas, unlike your other games. Thankfully the creation of the design document has been making it easier for me, and I've even managed to come up with most of the character mechanic concepts (though WIP versions of them). Someday I'll flesh out these concepts. Could be soon, however.

Things appear to be turning up for Spectrum Terror, and I can't wait to see what blooms from this second wind. Hopefully we'll have something exciting soon, but it's only a matter of time before that happens.
