Hey peeps, I've had the thought in my head for a while that I should probably inform you of the gameplay loop of Undertale Icebound.
Due to how big the AU/AT is (and how small the team itself is), a full game isn't feasibly possible. This means you will not be exploring full, crafted areas like you normally would in some fangames.
Instead, what we're doing is telling the majority of the story through the same method as Undertale does; via story panels. The battles themselves (as well as certain events, hint hint) serve as major story points, such as the Papyrus encounter and the Sans/Flowey encounter.
Don't fret, since there are a LOT of battles in the full game, as well as overworld-based gameplay somewhere along the line. Think of that like the Deltarune overworld segments where you have to avoid incoming fire and such, except that they're contained in their own instance rather than tied to an entire overworld area.
I did debate about making these into chapters, but that idea was scrapped due to the desire to tell the whole story rather than focus on select segments. This game used to have 'Sansational Cut' as part of the title, which was basically the time in which this was considered (as well as being Sans centric, which nobody liked).
_b might kick my ass for making this post, but oh well lmao. Just thought you should know what you're getting into first.
Ight, signing off. Laters.
