Happy New Year 2021 everyone!
Really I've just been planning or designing some games for a bit, but lately I thought of this: I want to remake my (initially) school project with the aim of far better optimization and design. (Seriously, the original Midbyte had too many If-statements it hurts.)
The remake will be titled "Midbyte: The Tale of the Key" as seen in the new logo design. Simple is best for me...
As seen in the logo, now it will have three colors instead of two. Black, gray and white. It gives a bit of variety.
I'll be making it from scratch using GameMaker Studio 2 but since I can't use it well (still disliking the different structure and functions since I'm bad with change), I'll be watching a certain list of tutorial videos to understand it better. (He'll be credited.)
As for the music, well... since I haven't been able to contact the original composer (Ayrayen), I took it upon myself to make the new OST using beepbox.co and I hope it won't make your ears bleed... Also, another reason why I made a new OST instead of using the old one is because I'm making 5 Worlds this time. Max 4 themes ain't gonna cut it. (Ah, yeah, the wording isn't wrong, the OST is already done... )
Maybe at some point I'll make a new Devlog for the remake but we'll see... I need to understand GMS2 first.
Let's see how long it takes for me to start off proper, eh?
Fun fact 1: I had far less trouble with the OST than GMS2.
Fun fact 2: Fact 1 proves I'm more suited to design rather than development.
