So I was trying to add gamepad support to Life Jacket (article)


Remember how a bit ago the new version of GameMaker broke Life Jacket so I had to revert back to the previous version? Well for whatever reason, when I open it now, it switches to a scary and otherworldly realm known as... "Read-only Mode". In this mode, I can't really edit the project.. So I can't really work on Life Jacket

Either I figure out some cheeky somethin to do or I rebuild the game (with a lot of code-copying involved)

Rebuilding the game might actually be a good idea though..

The code structure I made is pretty rough 💀
