so this id going to be different from the bug guide I did last time in 2 ways
there are only 6 ice types in the main game (there is an articuno but it can only be used in the postgame so therefore it doesn't count)
this run requires the use of a special rule that I came up with. what I call the "future type rule".
this rule states that if a pokemon gets type through some other means in the future (like regional variant or mega evolution) then they count as a placeholder until it can be replaced by a real pokemon of that type. for example vuplix can count as an ice type until you get a full team of ice types, in which case it will be replaced.
so now lets get into the actual guide.
the first ice type in the game is a shadow spheal outside of the ciphir lab, this will be your first team member
after beating the ciphir lab you get access to poke spots and wild pokemon, in the desert poke spot the common encounter is a sandshrew, this will be your first placeholder
soon after you will go into the radio tower where you can catch a shadow vulpix, this will be your second placeholder
you are going to hold onto these three until you reach phenac city, here you will get three ice types, a shadow snorunt,a shadow swinub, and a shadow seel, these will be the next members of your team
after awhile you will enter the key lair where you will find a shadow shellder, you will need to add this to your team, however you will need to take of sandshrew (most likely a sandslash by now) or vulpix (most likely a ninetails by now)
this will be your team for a long time until the very last battle before the final boss
(one little thing to mention just before fighting the person I'm about to talk about you can catch a shdow mr mime so you can switch out your placeholder pokemon if you want)
in the last battle before the final boss you can catch a shadow lapras, take off your placeholder and your final team will be
dewgong
lapras
cloyster
walrein
piloswine
and glalie
(and you can use the articuno in the postgame if you want)
