Camellia japonica, courtesy of my neighbour (the one who has often brought flowers from his garden for me and my family).

It makes him happy to know his flowers are appreciated by lots of people. Some of his plants are over 100 years old.

Drew this while watching videos of manatees.

As a kid, I "adopted" a rescued manatee named Betsie by giving donations every month. They would send me photos of her—she always looked like she was smiling.

Welcome to KB Draws an Elephant for the First Time.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Here is a teaser for a brand new project!

... Talk about impact! Ouch...

Kudos to the kind soul who rescued me immediately afterward.

Here's another one of my recent surface patterns, inspired by ogee prints, 1920s décor, and early Art Nouveau design. I actually pulled the palettes from an interior design book published in the late 1920s—very fun!

Photo I took of some buttercups in a field.

Sometimes, this is what my dreams look like... But most of the time, weird dumb stuff happens, like getting thrown from tree to tree by apes, or riding in a vehicle driven by wasps.

Another opportunity to draw Cheese? Yes please. #FanArtFriday

Hope the weekend goes as well as possible for you all!

I made this surface pattern of little blooms and leaping piggies for the "country retro" fabric design challenge over on Spoonflower. I got inspiration from some fun flour sack / feed sack fabrics from around the 1940s.
