Happy Spring! ...It's still technically spring, at least. I wanted to get this out sooner, but I wanted to get some stuff done first before posting this.
First, I want to introduce you to my coder! @tomochao ! He's been such a great pal and help! Thank you, Tomo! ✨
As mentioned:
90% of the first Demo's script is done.
Yep! So we're doing a major rework of the game -since Tomo joined, we've been overhauling the code to be more organized and more substantial in the long run.
But because of this, the game is gradually being updated and thus is bugging in the meantime. For example, we're switching to CSV files instead of text files, with more of an organized name. In practice, all new dialogue is being kept out-of-engine as we plan.
[img id: an outline for the entire first demo, all text redacted. id end.]
So 90%? What does that entail? Cutscenes, narration, battle actions/dialogue. Only the last few fights need to be ironed out dialogue-wise, otherwise, they're planned both through text and attack turns. (planned, not implemented nor playtested.)
Aside from those battles, the last of the writing pertains to the last 4th of the demo that'll depend heavily on gameplay and character interaction consistency. So that'll have to wait until we reach that part in the rough build of the game.
Also mentioned:
First battle built!
So I can't show you the battle itself. It'd ruin the surprise.
This is the best I can do.

The attacks are in place and I plan on getting playtesters to start playing the battle as early as tomorrow!
😊I'm so happy!! I hate how little I can show right now, because well, spoilers. But here's a cropped in-progress shot that made us laugh!

Lastly, I'd like to show off some art that I made for the game to promote it. I'm in the process of remaking the outdated gamejolt art- mainly minor changes.
