I also recommend rereading the first chapter, as I updated it to read better. 😉
Also! Also! If you are good at voice acting and good at reading, send me a whole audio of this story and I'll animate a little thing to your voice (crediting your voice acting of course!). 📣

CHAPTER TWO: DECIDE
Opening his mouth, Michael nipped at the occasional snowflakes that found themselves in front of his face. He swirled his ribbons behind himself as he danced in the air beside Lucifel.
"A fair weathered warning to you, Michael. Man is an evil creature that seeks nothing, but it's own amusement." Lucifel's wisdom clung to the frozen landscape. A life brought to the bleak terrain, which otherwise had an eerie silence to it.
"If man is so evil, then why would father want them?", Michael asked.
Lucifel opened his mouth as if to respond, but no words came out, instead leading the group ever forward. Michael stole a glance back, seeing Raphael and Gabriel flying behind them. He then shifted his gaze to Lucifel. He was walking. Why didn't he just fly? That thought resounded in Michael's nucleus. The snow was cold, wasn't it? Lucifel also had those weird looking 'ribbons'.
Michael flew down behind Lucifel grabbing one of his 'leathery wings' in his mouth, pulling the oddly shaped membrane upwards. In his little nucleus he thought this might help Lucifel fly. He had imagined it would help him fly.
"", Lucifel radioed at Michael in echotion, about to use words as fire on the bepper, when Raphael swooped in.
"Gabriel and I will fly up ahead. See you when you arrive." Raphael's voice boomed with authority.
"But!...", Michael began in protest, but Raphael had already taken off. Gabriel sliding out of his ribbons and fluttering at a slower pace behind the older dyno. "...flying?", Michael finished his sentence.
The two were already making quick progress ahead of them, disappearing behind the trees.
A cloud of warm breath trailed in front of Lucifel, trying to process what he was just told, and witnessed. His lips curled into a scowl, narrowing his eyes in absolute hatred. Whipping his head around to address Michael once more.
"Keep up." Lucifel growled.
Leaning forward, Lucifel got on all fours and dashed forward, speeding into the tree line. Michael letting out a panicked squeak, curled his ribbons tightly, flapping as hard as he could to catch up. His nucleus was straining for energy against his own membrane.
"Lucifel!", Michael squeaked.
"Lu-", his voice came out quieter.
"", he then radioed.
is the sound dyno's make when they 'cry', in the same way a baby may wail for it's mother.
Falling snow blurred Michael's vision, losing track of Lucifel in the haze. Suddenly an arm reached out, and blocked his panicked flight. Lucifel stood behind a tree, it was his arm. Michael exhaled, still recovering from his state of fear. On the verge of tears, the bepper rested on his tail.
"Those there. In the clearing. That is man." Lucifel curled his tail, pulling Michael closer to the tree.
Out where the firn met meadow, some odd creatures stood. Their bodies slender and dark in color. One had a reddish gleam, and the other had a bluish glow.
"That red one there. Her name is 'Female'. The blue one is called 'Male'." Lucifel explained, kneeling down and resting his hands on the ground. "Michael, I need you to go ask them if they need anything."
"If... if they need anything?", Michael asked, making sure he understood exactly what Lucifel wanted.
"Yes, part of our guardian work is making sure the humans are living. Just one thing...", Lucifel paused.
"One thing?", Michael questioned.
"They are beings of evil. Have I said that already? Look. Just listen to me. They hate the looks of dynos. If they see a dyno they throw rocks at them. It isn't fun." Lucifel continued, he reached around his back. Pulling, Lucifel unclicked his cloak and brought it over top of Michael. "Here."
The weight of the cloak brought Michael closer to the ground, bathing him in darkness.
"Wear this and don't take it off." Lucifel whispered, pulling the cloak tightly over Michael's little form.
"Okay." Michael agreed.
"Don't fear for I will be watching. If they try anything I will come to your side." Lucifel promised.
Now encouraged, Michael shuffled his way from behind the tree toward the meadow, feeling the snow give way to grass beneath his little ribbons. Closer and closer the figures got, getting glimpses of them beneath the cloth.
The two humans had taken notice of the familiar blue fabric. Almost in sync, they turned their eyes to each other then to the little form that was Michael.
"D-do you have everything you need?", Michael stammered, tilting his head up, finding it hard to see under the covering.
"Need?", Male asked. "Oh, yes needs." Female replied. Their voices were odd and stilted... robotic even.
"We have need of knowing", Male continued.
"Knowing who you are", Female seemed to finish the sentence.
Michael trembled, remembering what Lucifel had told him about man being evil. "I... I can't... I was told...", Michael mumbled fearfully.
Reaching forward Male and Female, in organized fashion, lifted the cloak off Michael, smiling with brilliant white teeth. Chomping at the prospect at what they'd see, and what they saw... was Michael.
"Hi, I'm Michael." Michael squeaked, voice crackling with static.
