After installing Windows 8.1, things are starting to no longer go my way anymore. It’s a nice operating system however, I can’t seem to get anything that I need working on this OS. Darkbasic Pro, and XNA are the only tools I know how to use when it comes to game developmebt. Unfortunately, the programs don’t like being in it. So I create an XP virtual box in Linux, and there’s no way to add updates to it because of the fact that it’s old and it always stills every time it looks for updates.
So basically the games that I was working on is technically stalled until I can find new or current tools to do the actual job of at least putting 2D sprites. Well, at least there’s Game Maker Studio that I have, but still don’t know how to use it.
There’s also FreeBasic but the IDEs for it are buggy. And I still lack knowledge on how to play sounds and do network on it. So yeah I might go back to just doing non-game software development if I can’t get anything working.
