I’ve made a few changes to the way I have been moving forward with my project. I have been sort of adding fun features which I want to see in the game but have nothing to do with the story, as a result, I have almost a sandbox game with no clear goals. Thankfully, I have changed that, after a motivational speech from a family member. I talk about early polish and I think, for me, it has helped me to be at that stage where I jump out of bed every day to work on my game. Being able to spend all day on completing a task, start to finish, is immensely satisfying and has given me a lot of motivation for moving forward with this project.

If you don’t already, you might consider following me on Twitter, where I post fairly often, all of my progress. (@3204games)

Back to topic though, how does one stay on task against the odds? Though this is similar to my piece on motivation, I would say it’s also drastically different. You can be fully motivated, just on the wrong stuff sometimes and that’s okay! You just have to find reasons to push yourself to do the things that keep you on task, which opening up a social media account can help with, keep that in mind.
In conclusion though, for me, I have found a lot of comfort in knowing that I am doing stuff which furthers my game as well as my interests in it, even if it did take a couple days of me not enjoying it so much. It is a project after all, unfortunately you will run into ruts, you just have to overcome them
