As is already clear from the cutscene dialogue, Stington was a gardenkeeper, but once he heard voice from the flowers that tell him how he can bee a famous big bee. By following the instructions he beecome a royal gardenkeeper and was noticed by "some famous idol" who offer him to work together. After a while she wanted Stington to tell how he become popular in such a short time, to which he replied that flower just says him what to do, but getting interrupted by buzzing from the garden. When he arrive he doesn't hear the voice anymore. Without it Stington's career was destroyed. He was thrown from the Queen bee's palace into a forgotten garden, breaking his wing during the fall. He tried to find the talking flower but suddenly cut himself on a shadow crystal in a pile of flowers.
