Dear shipmates,
We finally rise again from the abysses of coding, having completed the work planned for the upcoming 1.15 update, aptly named "the Eternal Patrol update"!
In this update we have added the last few electrical materials that didn't make it for 1.14 - namely, pumps and watertight doors. With these new materials, submersible-ship making is now a reality! You may place controllable pumps to increase or decrease the buoyancy of your natants, and watertight doors to shut off sections of your ships for those dreary moments in which disaster strikes. A couple of submersible ships distributed with the update will allow you to test your skills in descending down the Mariana Trench, like the brand new Triton 1650-3 LP, modeled after "the world’s lightest and most compact three passenger production submersible":
The update also contains a few more improvements - such as a new tool to pull ships by their particles - and a few bug fixes; you may see a preview of some of the new features in this video from theDARKTURRET's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0XveL2bD-c
Last - but not the least - we were about to package this update, when we had a dazzling idea! Have you ever thought that your structure-only ship looked better with a high-definition texture, but never had the time to add a proper texture to it? Starting from 1.15, Floating Sandbox's new "Auto-Texturization" magic will dress up your naked ships with automatically-generated high-definition textures, which are computed using the individual particles' materials. Here are some examples of structure-only ships, showing how details looked before and after this amazing new feature:
This was all we wanted to tell you to whet your appetite for the upcoming release! Give us a few more days to complete proper testing of the update, and check back here often for the release!
Stay safe!
