Summon the Chaos completed

http://gamejolt.com/games/strategy-sim/summon-the-chaos/13155/

It has been awhile since the Chaos competition has been completed and I have added a good bit of polish since then so that I can comfortably leave it at is. The one big regret is not getting the achievement API to work with Unity and GameJolt (I was able to get the offline version working briefly but caused a dangerous freeze for the web page version so it is removed for the time being). Most of the time since then has been spent trying to clash heads and get them to work together but I have to give that up and get back to my bigger projects.

I kept my updates since the submission to be relevant to what I expected of myself to achieve and would consider doable within the constraints of the contest. Therefore as a 1-person developer, I did not give lavish screens for opening/losing/winning screens nor gave fully detailed artwork. Nor creating complex sound effects. Going beyond those restrictions would feel like cheating myself when I look back on this entry. Also, since the submission, we now have:

-smarter AI pathfinding (with a little boost in their walking speed)

-UI relating the status of each individual citizen

-rapid fire attack (just hold the space bar down)

-Cleaner, more organized title screen

-Left/Right rotates while up/down is thrust instead of arrows equating to direction

-Citizens will occassionally stroll off and do their own thing when they go long enough without a command issued to the temple.

-Monster spawning cleaned up and more frequent

-New paths for the citizens

-Food/Water/Wood usage rates changed to make the gameplay more interesting

-and last, but not least, added GameJolt and Chaos poster to the opening gamestate.

I’m glad to have this finished and learned a lot about my programming techniques and a much deeper understanding of using Unity (especially because of the API). I hope you enjoy and would love to hear additional feedback.

Also, special thanks to Marble Tone Media http://gamejolt.com/profile/melimv/15138/ for providing the wonderful background music within such short notice. I certainly recommend contacting her if you are looking for music assets. There is also many special thanks for David Maletz for doing an amazing job and giving me a ton of feedback. His feedback certainly helped shape it into a much more enjoyable experience.

I mostly build 3D First Person Shooter game mechanics in Unity, and in this I'm just showing C4 mechanics I made for a little side project I am working on! :)

OK, this starts to be too tricky puzzle already :D
