Hello everyone this is I, and yes you know it, Review Everything is finally back after a long break from this blog page. I changed my mind when I said that Review Everything would have the final review but now I've changed because Review Everything is gonna stay here forever and I keep reviewing anything that I can review.
The Return of Review Everything
It's been 6 months since I said Review Everything is gonna be over and will never be reviewing anything on this page but now I'm back for some business.
Tetris (2023)
Today's review is gonna be a movie review based on a true story of how Tetris was born and made it to the public. With the same name and the same story, this movie was based on that. Directed by Jon S. Baird and Distributed by Apple TV+.
Story
The story for this film (according to Google) is "Henk Rogers discovers Tetris in 1988, and then risks everything by traveling to the Soviet Union, where he joins forces with inventor Alexey Pajitnov to bring the game to the masses."
The Plot of this film (according to Wikipedia) "In the late 1980s, Henk Rogers, a Dutch-American entrepreneur, travels around the world seeking to secure console and handheld rights for upcoming video games. While attending a Las Vegas trade show, Rogers witnesses a demo of a tile-matching puzzle game known as "Tetris", created by Russian game designer Alexey Pajitnov. He quickly becomes obsessed with bringing Tetris to Japan, where he resides with his family.
Rogers approaches Nintendo to help him acquire the rights, and agrees to a risky deal, putting up his house as collateral to secure a loan. He later sees a prototype of the first Game Boy and is convinced it must be shipped with a copy of Tetris. Rogers travels to the USSR to find the government-owned company that holds the rights, only to be rebuffed and met with suspicion. Threats and intimidation follow as he is spied on by the KGB. After much persistence, Rogers meets Alexey, who at first is mistrustful and afraid to speak or be seen with him, but ultimately forms a friendship."
Cinematography
The Cinematography in this movie is almost janky at the middle and almost the end of the film. In other Apple TV+ films, almost all of them are janky except this one. Almost all of the scenes are shakey and 1 frame stops just like the old movies that stop at 1 frame and fade away. Alwin can get a W for it, deserved to get an award.
Sound Design
The soundtrack and sound effects in this movie are full of old music that I've listened to, the chiptune in this movie is satisfying and makes me wanna play the game again for such a long time. The soundtrack and everything are perfect.
Lighting & Visuals
A few movies that I've reviewed have no lighting and editing section on them, so this is the first time I do it rights. So let me tell you about the lighting and visual effects in this entire 1 hour 50 minutes film, the 8-bit part and the sky are amazing, feels like it actually took place in 1989, I mean this movie takes place in that year. It is amazing to see the detail and everything in this movie. the Visuals... Muah, love em'
Acting
Henk Rogers - Taron Egerton
Alexey Pajitnov - Nikita Efremov
Robert Stein - Toby Jones
and other actors in this movie
These guys were too good at acting, let me say that I'm impressed with all of these actors. Taron said that he is not comfortable with the mustache he wore for the entire movie and I think he's really nice looking with it, I mean he kinda looks like Jim Carrey as Dr.Eggman from Sonic Movie. Let me say about all of these actors, some of these scenes, some of these actors are a little bit lanky at acting but that's fine because I love all of the actor cast
The Reviews
So, just like last time, it always ends with the review. I love this movie, I watched it so many times and I love it every time I've seen it. I give this movie an 8/10. Not a perfect score but that's an ok, good review, good movie. I would recommend you guys watch it on Apple TV+, a pretty good movie, you'll gonna love it!
